    Mercury props

I'm about to buy a Mercury Optimax 115. The boat is an aluminum dual console with a 19degrees V-shaped hull. The total weight is about 1750lbs and the length is 18.4ft. I'm going to choose an SS prop from Mercury, the prop selector on Mercury's site recommends for speed the following three...

    Turbo 1 test done

I switched prop today and took a test run. Top speed at WOT was 45knots(GPS) and rpm about 5200. So the Ballistic stands undefeated. However, when I had the Ballistic I had a different bottom paint. It's like the bottom paint I use now produces more drag, so the results are maybe not comparable...

    Turbo props last chance

I have a 20feet daycruiser with a Yamaha 200hp HPDI, I originally had a Ballistic 14x21 and I reached 48.5knots. I have tried two Turbo props and they were both out-performed in top speed, it was the TXP and the Lightning. I have one left to try this weekend and it's a Turbo 1 also 14x21. An...

    Audible alarm problem

I have a small daycruiser with a 200hp Yamaha HPDI -01. When I was out cruising the alarm suddenly started to sound. The sound comes from a horn in the throttle box. I switched off engine immediately and I drifted awhile and tried to figure out what the cause was/is. A SAR boat finally had to...

    Sea ray boats

Hi, I have a few questions about Sea Ray boats. I'm looking at the 26-28' range. When I look at yachtworld.com for Sundancer 260, it sometimes say it's 26' long and sometimes 28', what's up with this? Are they mixing LOA with LWL so that all 260's are actually 28' in overall length? Question...

    Turbo props

My turbo props have arrived, so now I'm waiting for a nice calm day. Anyway, I have pictures of them on a web page if anyone would like to see the differences between them, i.e. between Turbo1 141/4x21 and Lightning 143/4x21. The Lightning's blades are more narrow and longer, how does this...

Dhadley, Walleyehed were you right after all?

Hello, A few months a ago i posted about my TXP. My engine is a Yamaha 200 HPDI, my boat is a Yamarin 6110. With the same adjustments the TXP(14x21) did 45knots at appr. 5100rpm while an original ballistic did 48.5knots at 5400rpm(i'm not completely sure about that latter rpm but it's close)...

    TXP revisited

Finally i have my TXP installed. A quick test run revealed that top speed at wot is a about 45knots at 5100rpm, this is with the engine trimmed out of the scale of the trim gauge. It's quite obvious that the engine needs to be raised a bit. The AV plate is about 1cm above the bottom. I'm...

    TXP Hub

My TXP doesn't fit the shaft on my yamaha hpdi(M), the shaft is not long enough to give room for the nut washer. Is the nut washer necessary, because without it the pin fits perfectly in the nut. Any ideas? I use original thrust washer. /Mattias

    Mould wax etc.

Hi,<br />i'm planning to build a housing for a gauge to mount on top of the dash. I'm not familiar with molding and gel coat so i have a few questions.
