    1985 Sea Ray Seville Restoration

I am starting my restoration of this great boat with little things. I will apologize now but the progress will be slow and completed as time and money permits. Plus, I still use the boat as often as I can, this past weekend was murder, I wanted to hit the lake so bad but the ratchet strap had to...

Boat salvage yards in North Texas?

Does anybody happen to know of any salvage yards or junk yards in the McKinney, Allen, Plano, Farmersville or even Rockwall areas that deal specifically with boats and other watercraft? I have searched online and not come up with much of anything helpful. Chris

    1985 Sea Ray Seville

Does anybody know the measurements of the board across the back that covers the trim pump and Bimini top when its folded down? I am trying to redo mine and the top piece is so rotted out that I cant get a full measurement off of it. I am not going to use the foam on it like Sea Ray did, instead...

Post a pic of yours.... classic/vintage or new Sea Ray

Re: Post a pic of yours.... classic/vintage or new Sea Ray The Mistress is a 1985 Seville 5.6BR with the 3.0L and an Alpha 1 drive. The pics are all from the day she saw her new home (the day I bought her) I will most likely start a light resto this winter or next winter while fixing little...

    1960 Luger Matador Restoration

Re: 1960 Luger Matador Restoration She is GORGEOUS. I hope you can get her in the water on schedule. There is just something about the way wood boats look that just makes them more attractive over fiberglass sometimes. My dream is to one day do one of the Chris Craft wooden boats like the one...

    Custom built swim platform

Re: Custom built swim platform Water line appears to be right about here. But my other swim platform is higher than this. I was hoping to lower the platform to make boarding a little easier. Chris

    Custom built swim platform

Re: Custom built swim platform As far as angle goes, the one that is currently on the boat seems to have no angle at all. I just don't like the design, I like the full width platforms better (just think they make the boat look better then just a piece that seems out of place on one side only...

    Custom built swim platform

I am thinking of building a full width swim platform for my SR Seville but it appears to me that I will have to start about even with the outdrive and then step up over the outdrive and back down again on the other side. My questions are: 1. Has anybody here ever done this on a boat? 2. How...

Best type of wood to use

I am looking to find out the best kind of wood. I know the optimal choice is marine plywood. However, if a budget is tight is there another type of inexpensive wood that can be used with the proper sealing procedures. I know treated lumber is not a good choice. Chris

small block in an 85 Sea Ray Seville open bow

Can a Small block say 5.7L or 305 fit and be practical in the 18.5 ft bow rider. I know some of them have 4.3L in them as a factory upgrade. I have been told yes but I have seen just as many responses saying no. I know with the right amount of money anything can be done but what I am asking is...

    302 I/O winterized for 6 years

Here recently I as offered a chance to buy an offshore fishing boat with a ford 302 stern drive that hasn't been started for a long period of time and has been winterized for 6 years without being de-winterized. The boat was being offered to me for 800 and was 24 or 25 feet long with a trailer...

Re: Need to re make ski locker on my 84 seville This is the best I have right now but will take some more tomorrow and upload them. It needs much more interior work than this but this is the first task and its major part of the floor and my kids like to sit up front when underway. Chris

Need to re make ski locker on my 84 seville

One of the previous owners in their infinite wisdom decided that a ski locker was not needed on the boat and removed it so now there is just a piece of wood with carpet over it that was knocked down through the floor by the last owner when his friend decided to jump off the dock onto this part...
