I have a 1960 3hp weedless and waht to remove the head. I removed the five screws but i'm getting resistance. I Don't want to break anything. should the head come off now or did I miss something?

Anybody have any experience removing and installing a core plug on a small outboard. Mines a 56 7.5 Johnson. They don't look like i expected either. They are like a little slug thats concaved.
just bought this motor. Fired it up today and it ran good. It pumped water good but water was also coming out from somewhere out the bottom of the cylinder head. It looks like there might be a core or freeze plug at the bottom in a cylindrical casting pointing directly down on the head or out...

my 79 55hp shifted fine in forward and reverse then one time I tried going in reverse and it wouldn't. I adjusted the cable and could get it to go into forward and reverse but just barely. I mean, it would clunk into gear.
I have a 79 55hp johnson. It can be put into forward or reverse by adjusting the linkage and work fine but cannot be adjusted to go into both. any ideas?
