Atwood surge coupler welded on Prestige trailer

Well, it was exaggerated definitely. So each shear location, would take 7000+-. Which is 28000lbs, which gives fairly large safety factor, especially since the brakes will reduce the load "instantaneously" as the load would shift.

Urgent help - nearly broke down at sea. Fuel Problem.

On my 91 Evinrude 60 VRO I had a similar problem and it was the linkage for the timing became detached therefore no timing was advanced. The throttle could move and dumped fuel into the carburetor "bogging" it out as you describe.

    1965 StarCraft Explorer Rebuild

Yes! I've run into a similar situation a few years when I got my first boat. Its like when you bought your first car really, not always the best decision but you learn a lot from it. No matter how "well" you do, you'll know how to make it better the next time. Plenty of "rotten stringers"...

Atwood surge coupler welded on Prestige trailer

I am just in the process of converting. Took a little while to drill the hole through the entire surge slider. One 1/2 inch bolt should cover the weight of my 4000lb Thompson 240 with 36000lbs of shear strength at each shear location. This is based on the specs of a standard steel bolt shear...

Alpha one not fully engaging reverse

I have the same problem. Just replaced the shift cable and it doesn't seem like it wants to grab for reverse. The drive will engage if I rotate the shift shaft on the lower unit but not by manually moving the new cable at the engine side.

Hey all, It seems there is not a whole lot of knowledge about Penn Yan's but I'll ask anyway. For the most part the ribs of the boat are oak which Ive began to replace. The gunwales forward of the front seat were rotten for which they will be replaced. I'm having trouble determining the type of...

    91 evinrude 60hp vro

Hey everyone, I was given a 91evinrude 60hp vro from my uncle which he got from someone awhile ago. I’m unaware if it runs, but seems in good condition. I was told that he had filled the cylinders full of oil for some reason, I was not very happy to hear about that. Could possibly be due to it...

    Leaf plate

Hi everyone. I have a 58 johnson Rds20. Idles good. Had it on the water yesturday trying to get it tuned. Bogs out past trolling speed. I’ve cleaned the carbs, replaced the plugs, checked ignition parts good, reeds are good, adjusted bowl, still running super rich no matter how the needles are...
