cover pole systems

My new boat doesn't have the original canvas and I am running with one of those overall boat covers.
Whether using canvas, vinyl or this type of cover, I know from experience I need some sort of pole system to keep the cover up so that rain doesn't pool on it. After a hard rain last night...

    oil mix question/throttle alarm

I have a question that I would like to put to bed once and for all. When mixing oil into your gas for a two stroke oil, do you put the oil in first and then the gas or vice versa?
For years I poured gas, then added oil and shook the portable cans for my outboard. Then I started pouring in...

    Quick math question

According to previous posts, an 18' or 19' boat would use about 8 - 9 quarts of two part closed cell foam. I can have it done for $450. Cdn. How does that compare to buying cans and doing yourself in US$.
Am I way off base on quantity? Appreciate help clearing up this concern.

    NO FOAM PROBLEM?

The floor was replaced in my 19' bayliner without any foam. Is there any danger in this? I find some boats have foam, and others do not. There does not seem to be a set standard. I have read all the strings related to foam but wonder if anyone has had any problems not having it?

    is oversized motor a danger

I have a 19' fiberglas bowrider. The tag says it is rated for 140HP and I was going to put a 115HP Yamaha on it. I have a chance to put a 225HP Yamaha on it for the same price as the 115HP. My mechanic says they are the same size physically.
Would I be overstressing the transom, or...

    Need some quick livewell info.

I am having a friend add a livewell between the
front seats of my 19' bowrider. Right now the dimension of that area ia 41" l x 18"w x 16"d.
I think this is too much space for a livewell as well as I am concerned it would be too much weight in the front of the boat, even 1/2 full.<br...

SUZUKI VS YAMAHA / SS PROPS

I am now looking at buying a 1994 150HP suzuki instead of a 1992 115HP Yamaha. This is to be used on my 19' Bayliner fishing machine currently being built. My concern is the serviceability of the Suzuki. we don't have a local dealer here. My friend says they are good motors but are they more...

oil inject or mix/ tie kicker to main

I am rebuilding a 19' Bayliner as a fishing machine. It is to be powered by a 115HP Yamaha
and I have a 9.9 Evinrude for a kicker.
My friend suggests taking the oil injector off the
Yamaha and he will attached two lines to gas tank.
One to feed Yammy and one for the kicker...

    replace foam or not?

I have just had the floor and stringers replaced on a 19' bayliner bowrider. My friend thinks
foam is a waste of time and always soaks up the
water making the boat heavier in the water, thus
slowing it down. He does not want to replace it but will if I insist.
Is it...
