    Worth the divorce?

yeah I saw some videos on repairing them using plastic welding tools and filler rod. Actually have done some of this at work with PVC. Made me feel better if there is an issue that one could repair it. Certainly is a much bigger ski (at least 40%) and only weighs like 150 lbs more than the old 2...

    Worth the divorce?

They are all non fiber glass. Not sure if it’s the same material as the spark but the 2021 GTI 170 I bought last year has a composite hull. It’s a much bigger ski than the 2004 GTI we had but doesn’t weight much more. so ther are some weight savings not just cost. Of course the spark is a much...

Exhaust manifold, riser and elbow - flow path?

It will not drip back to the cylinders by pouring It in the hoses. Look at a picture of the elbow part some time the only way it enters exhaust is via the outlet of the elbows that is at a slight down angle, so unless you have the bow of the boat facing downhill it’s no issue. If on level ground...

Exhaust manifold, riser and elbow - flow path?

yes I usually pull the hoses at the thermostat housing lift them up and pour the AF in the hose. Some will leak out the exhaust as the elbow is open to exhaust as well as water flow up from manifolds.

    1976 Mercruiser 351W Oil Pan

you will have that issue with paint as well (oil contamination). Yes a lot of engine builders will bake the block heads and intake so the paint will adhere. The PPG epoxy products are from their automotive refinishing line. Weather its PPG or other competing line they will have much better...

    1976 Mercruiser 351W Oil Pan

Probably depends on what type of powder coating. Both ways are generally considered good corrosion resistance, I jdon't have experience with powder coating to know if it would be better. When restoring classic cars, blasting to bare metal and using PPG epoxy primer then top coating has given me...

Another Alpha one Gen I to Gen II Swap Thread

X2 on this no reason not to do it. The lube bottle and the better water pump are two great reasons to do it

    Winterize

I think it’s a full system, small hose off thermostat housing feed the front of the manifold. This is AF going to manifold , vs hot raw water off the heat ex if it were a half system

    Water in exhaust manifolds

If you are in salt water typical rule of thumb seems to be 5-7 for manifold and riser replacement

Converting 1989 MerCruiser 4.3 to 5.7 Magnum. Using Alpha 1 Drive.

The 4.3 and v8 use different exhaust elbows in terms of angle. also if you have a riser they use longer elbows. Yes you can use exhaust hose or silicone hose to make up the difference

Fuel leaking out of the throttle (butterfly) shaft

There are a lot of cheap chit carb kits out there. mikes carb parts is my go to place for mercarbs Kits . might have been the check ball stuck I there. I had a situation a couple years back on my 65 gto. Had a relatively new edelbrock 1406 on it, took that off to put a tripower on it (3 x 2...
