Force 2 cylinder throttle cable adustments

Agreed. Thanks. I have a hard copy on order and it should be here Friday. Thank You! Ok, will just put the lower linkage back on where it sits. Shift in and out of gear was working fine. Will check the timing static, and make sure it is around 28. If it's not will put I in the barrel and...

Force 2 cylinder throttle cable adustments

@jimmbo and @Nordin Thank you both for the additional responses. With the linkage unhooked, yes the moves enough to open past horizontal on the inner butterfly. After adjusting the throttle rod (which was way off at 3/4 open) and only leaving the throttle linkage hooked up it is now...

Force 2 cylinder throttle cable adustments

Thank You @Nordin . I didn't adjust the throttle connector at all. It's as it was when we took the outboard and linkage off the donor boat. Just reinstalled it as it was. The throttle pickup point has line on it. I assumed throttle rod should be adjusted so the plastic roller bushing...

Force 2 cylinder throttle cable adustments

Trying to figure out throttle cable adjustments on a 1990 Force 50. When put in forward gear, it engages the drive, but can move the throttle forward about 30 degrees before it the throttle cam (#2) starts to move. Can't get full throttle. #4 was backed out 1/4", but not sure if that's the...

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

Engine ran well last night. It started every time with just a twist if the key. No cranking to make it run, no fouling. Was an enjoyable night fishing. My friend caught the biggest striper he'd ever caught as well as the biggest small mouth he had landed. The trip back was quite dark with...

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

Running by 0830. Fuel pump diaphram was hard and had a rip in it. Was thinking it was pumping air and gas, upping the fuel pressure. Thaniknig that was the only problem, untilI i took the carb apart. Found a little piece of wood in the needle seat. Cleaned out the carb, and put it back...

We thought it was a good deal as well. Wanna switch to a 4 stroke when we can afford it. New tank and fuel lines. Checked compression when we got it and again after the trip out. New solenoid, new starter, New plugs. And a second spare pair of plugs for the parts bag. Wiring is good...

    Building a fishing boat.

From the canoe, I've seen numerous boats in that area with headlights and spot lights when out at night. Also seen numerous canoes and kayaks with no lights at all (also illegal) If illegal, we won't run them when moving.

Have Navigation lights installed at the front inside the top weatherstripping rail. And a removable, extendable anchor light installed. Inside lights installed as well when we need. Agreed. The original setup when we started only had Nav lights on the hood and anchor light. To navigate...

Had it out on the lake once last month. Having issues with the force 50 running right after 3/4 of a day running it.

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

Had our first trip to the lake after 8 months of weekends rebuilding the boat to what we wanted Motor ran great the first half of the day. Then fouled out, got it running again, ran out of gas and then would barely run, and limped it off the lake. Rebuilt the carb again, changed jets to...

The The Two holes left to drill for the dash are the lanyard kill switch and the ignition switch. Good point on adding a step to the back of the boat to get back in. Will add it to the list of things before finished.

An update. Still moving along. Dash, wiring, fuel lines are all that's left. Fully painted, after flipping it. Floors cut, treated with PU and carpeted. Engine and sterring mounted. Seats mounted, and console added. Getting closer. Still working on the dash, a couple more holes.

I would. She knows what I fish for and would ask for help and buy something way nicer and probably more expensive than I would buy. As a gift, would be great!
