Had to call 911 the first time in my Life

What tests did they run, EEG, EKG, Xray/CAT/MRI, Bloodwork(red-white counts, oxygenation, Enzymes indicating Heart Attack)?

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

Thank You for clarifying the Brand of the Oil. An inquiry to Sierra about the Oil, may have saved you some frustration. As a preteen(late 60s), I remember my Uncle using an Esso(Exxon in US) Outboard Motor Oil that was amber

Bad 2 cycle oil from amazon

Mercury/Quicksilver DFI oils, and some of Amsoil 2 stroke oils, are yellow/amber Myself I wouldn't use a DFI Oil in an Outboard that premixes the Oil with the Gas, as DFI Oils are not formulated to mix easily with gas.

    Engine misfires after rain storm

Non-critical Sensor fault, however... Connecting a scanner to the Engine Diagnostic Port, is what needs to be done. Meanwhile, try checking for Low Gear Oil level, Water in Fuel Filter.

Perhaps the wire has a broken conductor hidden by the Insulation.

Prop sizing help for new to me boat.

Planing speed is not something that is really all that adjustable, as it is determined by Physics, Hull design, as well as weight and distribution of. The more load in the boat, the higher the speed a clean Plane is achieved. You can force the Bow down at slower speeds by putting Trim Tabs on...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

Yank all that Electronic Crap off, replace it with a Carb, and Mechanical Advance Distributor, if you want to have many years of trouble free boating. But if there ever is a Problem, much much easier to figure out what is wrong, and fix

    Prop / prop shaft damage

Who did the previous Service? If you have documents that state that they only put 1.5 liters of Oil in the Case, and then sent the boat on it's way, you do have case of Negligence on their part, and that they should be paying for the Repair/Replacement,

    1988 Quadrajet and gasket issues

It will certainly reduce the amount of Air that the Larger Primaries of the Squarebore could flow, and that could certainly screw up the calibration of the opening of the Secondaries. The Mercruiser Adapter I showed in post #11, did allow the flow from the Primaries to access the Secondary Side...

    1986 Mercury 9.8 110 outboard

Since both cylinders are not firing, and the odds of both sets of Reeds failing is not likely, and it appearing that Fuel is not getting to either cylinder, maybe the crankcase isn't fully closed. I think it is time to pull the Powerhead off and tear it apart and inspect. But before doing that...

Edelbrock's adapter is one of the Worst. Chokes the larger Primaries severely The Mercruiser adapter, allows the higher flow from the Primaries to divert to the Secondaries inlets Yes, it is a 4175, the Double Pumper versions of the Spreadbores are 4165s. I had replaced the Holley 2 barrel...

    1986 Mercury 9.8 110 outboard

Compression in the Combustion Chamber, yes, but to me, the Crankcase/reeds are suspect, as the OP has sprayed fuel into the carbs, and it appears not to have made it to the Combustion Chamber to fire

I have used a Holly Marine 650cfm Spreadbore Carb #0-80552 If you go the Edelbrock route, get the Genuine Mercruiser Adapter, while not the Best, it is far better than many after market ones

As stated before the motor needs" Compression, in both the Combustion Chamber, and in the case of a 2 Stroke, in the Crankcase. Air-Fuel delivered to the Combustion Chamber, via the Crankcase. A Source of ignition at the proper Time

1997 5.7L thunderbolt ignition. Slow crank

Evans lost to GM in the Courts. About 100 yrs ago, GM reversed engineered the Combustion enough to recreate the the turbulence, and not infringe on Ricardo's Patent, which was issued in the 1920s. Also the Ricardo patent was for Flathead Heads, GM's design was for an OHV engine, thus...

    1986 Mercury 9.8 110 outboard

Maybe. Put you hand over the carb, blocking it completely, open the carb fully and have someone spin the flywheel. Do you feel any suction? If not, the gasket between the carb and block may be bad, the crankcase might not sealed, or the Reeds are bad. If you feel Pressure, the Reeds are...

    1988 Quadrajet and gasket issues

I too recommend rebuilding the OEM Carb, using a Mercruiser Rebuild Kit. You say the previous rebuild didn't restore its performance, all I can say, is you didn't clean all the fuel delivery circuits, adjust all the linkages that could have been affected by slightly different gaskets on between...
