Cool Fuel Gen 3 Module Sea Water Connection

Thanks for the help. Bought the new assembly and got it installed. Not as bad as I thought it would be. The trickiest part was getting that little stub of hose on the 3rd bard to disconnect and reconnect to that check valve off the exhaust manifold.

Cool Fuel Gen 3 Module Sea Water Connection

For some reason the Merc parts catalog doesn't show the "Cool Fuel System" node for my serial number 0W061713. I can see it under the 5.0L MPI Alpha/Bravo, serial 1A300000 to 1A611927. I did confirm, I have the 3 nipple version. I gave up trying to find just the plastic fitting and ordered the...

Cool Fuel Gen 3 Module Sea Water Connection

That's what I'm wondering....do I need to buy the whole assembly? I can't find anyone who just sells the plastic connector. I would need the 3 nipple version of that fitting. Could I just buy the whole assembly and cut the hoses to the bracket/connector and tie them in to the existing hoses...

Cool Fuel Gen 3 Module Sea Water Connection

Sort of hijacking my own thread....same topic but slightly different problem. Anyone know where to buy a new plastic fitting as shown in the pic in the original post? Worst case I guess I could buy the whole new assembly. Could I just cut off the so called end with some of the hose (circled in...

Cool Fuel 3 Module Water Channels

How do you determine when it's time to replace the CF3 module? Looking in through the water inlet/outlet holes, I see corrosion in there but without seeing what a new module looks like, hard to determine the level of blockage. Does the water jacket/passages in the module surround the two fuel...

    High Fuel Pressure

Got the fuel module out minus a little slice on the finger. While tugging and wiggling, somehow my finger slipped off and I think hit a hose clamp and did a number on the index finger. Is there a way to get pictures attached to this post because it will tell the story better. Examining the...

    High Fuel Pressure

Any special tricks to pull the fuel line out of the top cover? The pin screw is removed and the line does wiggle but it's not coming out.

    High Fuel Pressure

Do I have to worry about priming the pump once it's put back on the engine?

    High Fuel Pressure

I guess I will figure out, but is it best to remove the fuel module by unbolting the brackets from the engine block or unbolting the module from the brackets. The side bolts are simple to get to, just not sure yet about the bolts on the back of the module.

I popped the regulator off the rail, it was clean.

    Thermostat/temp

Temp gauge reading is the same for my 6.2 MPI with 160 thermostat whether on muffs or in the water. I know the voltage gauge is a little off on my boat....yours looks like what I would expect.

Interesting analysis. I know my wallet felt that 32% richer mixture. :)

    High Fuel Pressure

Any thoughts on replacing the fuel module housing (8M0178981 / 892677) with the redesigned one so paint delamination will no longer be an issue?

    High Fuel Pressure

Pulled the regulator off the fuel module. I don't have anything to compare to it to say whether or not it's significantly dirty or just a little dirty but there is definitely some grime on the screen. Also, when I did pull it out, there was a string of paint hanging off the center part and...

    6.2L Smartcraft Connection Point

I think it's a female connector on the harness. But this place also has the male connector. https://store.neweagle.net/shop/products/connectors-tools/harnesses-connectors-connectors-tools/smartcraft-hardware/female-10-pin-smartcraft-connector-kit-enough-for-3/

    High Fuel Pressure

You just answered the general knowledge question I had.....How does a clogged regulator cause high pressure. What you say about a clogged regulator is something I was wondering based other stuff I've read plus the fact I have the original fuel module.

    High Fuel Pressure

I've been running rich and did a pressure check and I'm running about 70psi at idle. Trying to get a couple questions answered so I can just hop from one thing to another to get me through the diagnostics. Last season I got the fuel injectors cleaned which apparently they needed it. 2 of the 8...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator 885174 - Repair/Replace

Looking at the picture of this regulator, it looks the most that could be done is clean the circular filter screen.

Any recommendations? I see a few different makers for this regulator.
