Puzzled but all good. Was online with Autozone for something else and saw what "others were purchasing" and saw for $4 a 5qt container of 5w30 oil so I did an online purchase and pickup. Super great deal but WHATS WITH THAT?? I usually aint that lucky... Charlie
Guess I got the correct terminals by chance.Been out several times with no issues whatsoever. No markings anywhere and I looked with a magnifying glass to be sure.
All good ,cheap fix so let's see if it lasts. Tested it today and all good. Saw the exact same looking breaker selling in several...
THANKS but Even ifs twins? I have 2 .. I was going to use an Evinrude connector with 2 prongs on the tank but I assume a threaded barb will provide more fuel..??
I am just hoping that enough fuel comes from the single outboard portable tank to run both 5.0s at idle or a touch above idle. I know I can do a separate tank to each but its gonna be easier and cleaner if I can run from 1 tank .Charlie
Yep, makes sense. I have an old gallon of liquid plastic made by Flekto Varathane,Was gonna do a test spot to smooth things out or I may just put another coat of spray paint applied heavily....THAT seemed to work pretty well after a light sanding.
New breaker installed and working fine. Had to drill one of the old connections off and the other one just fell off when I was handling it.Cleaned the cable ends and they were too small for the breaker terminals so honed them a bit until they fit.Gonna go with marine grease one the...
this looks like to one I got except that the lever goes the opposite way.the rest looks identical.Actually if I flip mine upside down it is identical.Probably all made at same factory in China
I will look again. I bought what was called a pretty generic 40 amp at an RV and marine center. It has an arm and a small reset button next to the arm. Terminals look to be brass( gold) with rubber caps for the ends of the terminals.
Green zinc chromate primer on aluminum.I have also used yellow zinc phosphate primer on aluminum with good results. Never heard of using epoxy primer. Charlie
ok, got my new breaker.Went with a different style since the current style was open back and not sealed to corrosion. and I boat in salt .I plan to coat each terminal thoroughly with either marine grease or dielectric. There are 4 other small screw heads or rivets.I was planning on brushing on...
I planned on getting a dupe of what I'm taking off. I assume it's marine?? Look at the pic. although the back was open which I assume marine would be closed .Charlie
Upon closing up I think I confirmed the breaker needs to be replaced. When I hold the reset red button in everything works as long as the button is held in and when I let the button go ...nuttin.
Hoping I don't sound like a complete tool here but should I be able to temporarily connect the 2 leads together after I remove the breaker and until I get a new breaker if needed?? Just to keep my bilge pump connected for a day or 2 ??
