    Milky oil

Looks like some of that lower price greenish oil that I've seen. Video was quick and hard to see clearly. Might not be bad at all. Like others have said, put it in a glass bottle and look at it tomorrow. Vacuum testing is easy though. Any intake manifold suction tester works and I screw it on...

    Prop Rotation

Hey Crosbyman....does chat gpt do all that or do you lay out all that stuff?

    Prop Rotation

Lol, nobody seems to want to answer your question...you pull it forward to get it in gear. Cheers

    Prop Rotation

With the motor off, pull the plugs, put it in gear...and turn the flywheels clockwise while observing the prop shafts. To answer your question, clockwise is the default.

    1988 Johnson 15 won’t stay running….

Lots of terms I've never heard of. To answer racer question, were the parts ordered OEM? Also, there was a 10 lb difference in the compression reading? Just because it starts and runs now doesn't mean it will push you down the lake. Under load will be the next test.

    Motor lift plate

They look a little scary but I've never had a problem with mine. 25 inch 115 E-tec on a 20 inch transom. The good thing is, it tilts way out of the water when you tilt it up.

    Motor lift plate

I've had, have two on my 115's I believe you order them based on your HP. I could be wrong

'84 90hp crossflow. J90 MLCRD. Reed valve filler blocks. part # 0322684. When?

What was your motor doing/not doing to make you pull those?

1983 Evinrude 15 how to remove drive shaft

Stuck driveshaft is very common and tricky to save. Often times when you pull them out the crank splines come with it. Older ones hold up better. I use a flare tool and a c-clamp to grip the shaft and then rig up a expander to that. Penetrant and slight tapping helps. I usually do it over a...

What is this nipple inside the carb area

It shows it as a drain....also shows a rubber cap on it. Right now it could be a vacuum leak I guess.

What is this nipple inside the carb area

I'm thinking that goes to the plastic air box for pollution control...not sure where the primer goes into that motor. Not 100 percent positive.

Is my motor sitting to low?

Maybe...is that a false hollow bottom? Anti cavitation plate should be even with the bottom of your motor is clamped to the transom, higher if it's on an offshore bracket.

    1987 50hp Evinrude E50TLCUD Thermostat Replacement

Why would you not run some kind of corrosion blaster through your motor when you haven't even diagnosed your motor. Nasty looking t-stats tested fine, right? The water orifices in that motor are not very big...plugging is easy. That motor is not ready for fishing.

1996 evinrude 40 tiller carb roller

I couldn't find that part for your motor but maybe I missed it. Is that your cam roller for the throttle? If so, it should go on or not. Sounds like you have the wrong one.

OK a question. I have a little 1984 Evinrude 7.5 HP.. Beautiful motor.

Lower Unit (LW) will need to stay in the water at all times. (For over revving and coolant water/lubrication) If your using the existing transom and not on a plane the water should be quite high so I wouldn't think it would be a problem. And like Racer say's, aftermarket adjustable brackets are...

Old 4hp Evinrude takes a nap

Do another compression check, if still good, buy an inexpensive IR gun and see how hot it's running.

1978 35 hp Johnson, electric start.

Brandons garage shows you how to install one and lists the part number (YouTube)... Any parts motor will have one... Cdi electronics probably makes and sells one. I have many...dime a dozen really. Pretty sure the only thing you don't have is an overheat sensor so you won't be using that wire.
