40hp evinrude not sure of model number number...late 60s early 70s. every time i engage reverse it blowes a fuse. found water in the electric shift housing. what could be causing the water to be there........... thanks
40hp evinrude late 60s not sure of model number. when at full throttle the boat will not go like its suspose to. barley go! could this be a compression problem if so how do i test the compression.
40hp evinrude when i engaged reverse wires started smoking by the throttle. now reverse wont work but foward does but not with full power? also why will this motor only run with the choke on?
just bought this boat the 2 wires for the shift are not connected. where do they connect to? they are connected to the lower unit but not the other side. please help:facepalm:

where does the two wires connect for the electric shift that come out from the lower unit out past the motor. also someone told me that muffs wont work that it needs to be in a barrel but will i see water come out anywhere
