    Removing transom bolts Gen 2

Run tap through to clean internal threads. I purchased new bolt/studs and coated as best as I could. After assembling, coat lock nuts or use ss lock nuts. I don't plan on rebuilding another I/O transom!!!!

    Replacing transom foam seal

Make sure transom is not rotten!!!!! I added 5200 to help seal and also to hold seal in place as I installed assembly onto boat. I also added plumber's foam inside to the lower cavity where trim cables pass. It will be a real pain to replace cables, if needed, but until you have rebuilt a...

    Single point drain

I'd ditch the blue plastic crap and replace with 2 brass or SS. My ss ones came with o-rings. Most Chevy V8s have block side drains, usually a brass pipe threaded plug (one each side ). Mine have drain cocks but are very difficult to access. Yours will be too. However if you drain and go back...

    What type sterndrive

Gear lube or engine oil? Have you carefully checked OD? If not leaking lube, it has to be engine. How much is much? Is it worth all the work for a missing quart a season???

    Trim cylinder hose replacement

Most systems will automatically purge. Seal kits are cheap and offer peace of mind. Easy to install... Easy to flush. I would have open rams and flushed and then add new fluid. Pump our reservoir. Check manifold connection at OD. It has a gasket that sometimes leaks. Cheap to replace.

    engine oil

U live in south or north??? In NW Florida many burn 10w30/40. Crank up with 10w30 and see if it burns excessive oil. U may have to thicken oil. Most motors don't wear out, they corrode or rust out.

    Temp gauge issues

There are differences between temp sender and switch. The sender must be compatible (ohms) with gauge display at helm. The switches, not so much... Also, do not use excessive Teflon sealant on threads. Excessive tape reduces grounding. My boat's former owner had some crazy wiring too. I could...

    Mercruiser exhaust question

I liked to have never secured my exhaust bellows on Alpha and Bravo 1. I am not familiar with III. Raise OD and see if noise is also coming from leakage.

No fuel in carb despite several attempts to crank

I had similar problems with a 95 Proline and my Sea Ray. Old fuel and debris clogged up Proline fuel pickup, before it could get to water/fuel separator. I had to purchase a cheap automotive 12 volt pump and cycle fuel sever times, after removing pickup tubes' screen, to clean tank. Pulling tank...

Not getting water to crank pumps-Bravo1

No low water inlets... Attached is a photo of open pump. However, arrows on pump cover show direction to be either way. I didn't attach cover cap photo. We reversed water pressure from pump hose back through transom. No blockage. Pump hoses appear to match body pickup area (2nd photo). Input is...

Not getting water to crank pumps-Bravo1

I will examine cover. I believe I have it correct. Output water/hose from transom Bravo-itus kit comes from port side of each engine to crank pump.

Not getting water to crank pumps-Bravo1

all I can see are the vertical small holes on the lower OD.

Not getting water to crank pumps-Bravo1

Looking at the front of the V8 (crank balancer), the input hose from Bravo kit connects to the lower crank pump connector. The top crank pump hose goes into heat exchanger.

Not getting water to crank pumps-Bravo1

I just replace both Johnson impellers on both my cranks pumps. I was eating them up. Then, I connected muffs, but no water is getting to pump. Faucet is set on max water output. I disconnected hose at pump head but no water coming out of hose. Both my Bravos had been retrofitted with bravo-itus...
