    SOLVED. bought yamaha guage part number Yamaha 6Y5-83670-12 new for 80.00 on ebay. Plugged right into my trim harness. Works fine. Thanks for all the help

    Ok so I bought a Faria trim gauge as a test. I wired power to it and ground then jumped the pink wire at the dash side of the Harness ( after removing square to round adapter harness that goes to multi tach. Then jumped ground to black wire in 4 pin square harness and I got the analog Faria...

    Looking to put a trim guage in my dash but the wood is so thick I won't have any room to put the retainer on the back. I was looking at yamaha specific trim guages and they are a lot longer. Maybe go that route?

    Looking at part number Yamaha 6Y5-83670-12-00 States 2 wire sender guage. Do I still use my existing harness to go from motor to guage? Harness has an orange wire in the 4 spot plug connector.

    Yes round connectors. I had to get these adapters shown below. Tach and oil status work fine.

    Wasn't aware that you can set the tach for trim sender wires. If you zoom in you can see the tach better
