    Can I ground the fuel gauge sender wire?

    I have the digital speedo with fuel gauge. It is not very accurate so I have hooked up an anologue gauge instead. With the sender from fuel tank disconnected from the speedo the low fuel light flashes. My question is, can I just ground out the white wire on speedo and have it read full fuel?
