Re: Mercruiser 120 new rebuild in a 76 starcraft Islander low RPM For the ratio, put her in gear. Take your plugs out, and rotate the engine 10 times by hand. Count the number of times prop goes around. 10/1.5 = Prop goes around 6.7 times 10/1.81 = Prop goes around 5.5 times etc. There is...

    New to forums...looking for feedback

Re: New to forums...looking for feedback First boat and you like speed/power huh? You know the ole' saying 'there's no substitute for horsepower'. I say keep looking. You should be able to find a late 90's vintage bow-rider with a sbc 350/alpha1 for the same coin. Probably won't go much faster...

Re: ticking noise Get yourself one of these at Harbor Freight or similar store and start listening to all the parts while engine is running. Makes it a lot easier to isolate the ticking location.

Re: got me a project...newb need some help..with my engine The engine/outdrive alignment is the most important part of putting everything back together. There is a lot of work involved in the installation of the engine/outdrive and if you don't align the two correctly after installation you...

Re: 1991 Cajon 1750 Espirit bilge pump I would have to think it is located in the bilge. Access would be through some type of hatch in the back of the boat.

    trouble shoot problem

Re: trouble shoot problem With the drive off use a flashlight to look inside the gimble and see how the coupler looks. You should see splines on the coupler that mate with the splines on the drive shaft. In this picture you can see how the splines might look. This one was worn out but still...

    Engine upgrade?

I am looking to the near future replacing my tired salt laden 1984 305SBC with a newer version 350SBC. What specific items must I be aware of when looking at a newer vintage 350, say something in the mid 90's. What parts interchange and how does a single rear main seal effect the installation...

    GLM Riser Replacement

Am I missing a part here?

Lots of water comes out of this hole while running on muffs or while in a barrel with no muffs. I don't see any cracks in the new water pump housing or any other obvious issues. Am I missing a part or some kind of plug here?
