    That’s also another thing I was not clear on. I did not put it in full forward but I did put it 3/4 forward and no locking. Do I need to put in full forward and push push in the cable when it is not attached?

    Good deal, exactly what my question was. My drive is solid, corrosion took a toll on the lower unit. Rest of the drive and transom assembly is solid.

    I bought a 2.00 Bravo 3X and a 2.00 Bravo 3 as a package, specs showed online that the lowers on the 1.81, 2.00, and 2.20 are the same and I can swap them out.     I'm looking to replace a lower unit/complete outdrive on my Searay with a 7.4 MPI that comes stock with a 2.20R. I need to know what difference there is if any between the gear ratios as well as if I can swap just lower units from a 1.81, 2.20, or 2.21 without any issues.

    RPM gauge responds when throttle applied. However in idle it registers only 200-300 RPMs. It's a 2005 engine and the RPM gauge is linked to the ignition coil which is not OEM. I need help where to start chasing the problem down and how to test the diode that goes to those grey and purple wires...

    I took it to a fiberglass/gel guy in GA and he told me the material is some sort of polyeurethane plastic on the bottom that was glued into the fiberglass portion. He told me resin would not stick to it and instead use an epoxy to fill the voids.

    Yes on the top it is glass covered for sure, bottom side looks glass covered but it has some sort of plastic material it's mixed into.
