    Just bought a 1981 bayliner with a 120 mercrusier

    He said it sat for 8 years. It was fogged when stored and winterized. I did not see it run or hear it run. The oil was clean with no water. Is there anything I should check for before I go ahead and put a new battery in and crank it?

    Thinking about buying a boat with a 69 Johnson

    I am looking at a boat with a 1969 Johnson 65HP. Its a 3 cylinder he told me its a 2 stroke. He told me it runs great but I have not herd it myself. The motor looks extremly clean for a 69, I was wondering besides as compression test what else I should do or look for..?;)

    Im out for the season...

    Well, I just sold my boat, it was my 3rd boat for the year and I loved it, what I hated was I watched it sit. So I figured I am going to sell it and see what next season brings around. Thanks for all the help and advice guys. Ill be back ;)

    Do I need smart tabs?

    Took my boat out, with the motor all the way down tilted up a little or a lot it will not stop bouncing, even when the lake is like glass...... I tryed shifting weight to the front but that didnt help at all..... Its to the point where I cant go over 15MPH with out it bouncing uncontrollably...

    Why would I lose all my gauge's ?

    At the boat ramp I had everything besides tach... Gas, temp, fuel, batt, trim and tilt, all worked fine, started driving around looked down and lost them all, tryed playing with the wires, checked the fuses(all good) still nothing...? I really dont want to have to trace all the wires to where...

    Boat bounces a lot in the water....

    When I tilt the motor all the way down the boat will not bounce in the water, when I start planing out and tilting the motor up the boat will bounce a lot and will not stop.... Would the hydro-foil on the motor cause this? Any ideas....? And I did take the boat out without the new regi and...

    Thinking about buying a 1986 boats with a 135HP Merc.

    Its a 1986 6 cylinder 2 stroke oil injected...... It runs, steers, lifts up and down, engages and dissengages gears. He said he always winterized it and did the oil in the lower end. Now....are there any problems with these? What should I check for?

    Should there be any play where the motor bolts onto the boat??

    I have a Bayliner Capri 19ft it has a 125hp Force. Now where the motor bolts up to the back of the boat if i have the motor up all the way and get in or out of the boat on the swim ladder I can see the boat wood moving in and out slightly since the motor in bouncing.... Normal? or not?

    Power trim and tilt not working....

    I have power at the pump, I hear my relays clicking, could it be that the brushes are bad inside the pump? I took it all apart, cleaned all the contacts, looked pretty good nothing broken, no wires missing. Put it back together and nothing.... Should I buy a new pump or get this one rebuilt?

    Boating accidents...

    How in the world do they happen? I remember reading in the paper last summer about 2 seperate boating accidents. Both happened at night..... Both boats that got hit were anchored in a cove. Luckly no one was seriously hurt. I guess beer and boats just dont mix!

    Speed problem fixed....Now fuel questions..
