Glad I decided to replace my manifolds!

I was very close to just replacing the gaskets between the manifolds and elbows, but decided since it’s a new to me boat (relatively speaking) I’d just replace them and be safe. Glad I did. Lots of hidden rust up against the block on the starboard side. Also there was what looks like a bit of...

    Battery Voltage

Hi All, last season i noticed my voltage gauge on the dash reading a bit low; did some research and checking with my multi meter and determined it was the alternator. Alternator Replacement

Need to replace my alternator. It is original to the boat - 2004. Is it worth the extra $$ to go with oem on this or ok to do aftermarket. I’ve used DB electrical alternator on my last boat and had an issue with the pulley being out of wack. Thoughts?

Stuttering and stall on throttle advance.

Hey all, 5.0 GXI-D with reman block in 2016. Runs good but noticed that at cold startup the motor cuts out right away. Restarts with no issue (usually only one time) and idles fine. When it’s cold, if I advance the throttle it sputters and sounds like it’s gonna stall unless I set the throttle...

    Gimbal Bearing and oil seal

I’m prepping to replace the gimbal bearing on my SX-M (first time) and the kit I got came with a transom oil seal which apparently is located behind the gimbal bearing. What is the purpose of the oil seal and does it need to be replaced as part of regular maintenance? Thanks

    Milky outdrive oil

    Weird issue after tune up

So went back out this evening to change out the plugs to what Michigan Motorz recommended. I had put in AC Delco 41-101 and called them to make sure hey were the right ones and they told me they’re hotter and to change them out to 41-993. Thought they were essentially the same but whatever...
