    Thermostat/temp

Temp gauge reading is the same for my 6.2 MPI with 160 thermostat whether on muffs or in the water. I know the voltage gauge is a little off on my boat....yours looks like what I would expect.

    High Fuel Pressure

Interesting analysis. I know my wallet felt that 32% richer mixture. :)

    High Fuel Pressure

Any thoughts on replacing the fuel module housing (8M0178981 / 892677) with the redesigned one so paint delamination will no longer be an issue?

    High Fuel Pressure

Pulled the regulator off the fuel module. I don't have anything to compare to it to say whether or not it's significantly dirty or just a little dirty but there is definitely some grime on the screen. Also, when I did pull it out, there was a string of paint hanging off the center part and...

    6.2L Smartcraft Connection Point

I think it's a female connector on the harness. But this place also has the male connector. https://store.neweagle.net/shop/products/connectors-tools/harnesses-connectors-connectors-tools/smartcraft-hardware/female-10-pin-smartcraft-connector-kit-enough-for-3/

    High Fuel Pressure

You just answered the general knowledge question I had.....How does a clogged regulator cause high pressure. What you say about a clogged regulator is something I was wondering based other stuff I've read plus the fact I have the original fuel module.

    High Fuel Pressure

I've been running rich and did a pressure check and I'm running about 70psi at idle. Trying to get a couple questions answered so I can just hop from one thing to another to get me through the diagnostics. Last season I got the fuel injectors cleaned which apparently they needed it. 2 of the 8...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator 885174 - Repair/Replace

Looking at the picture of this regulator, it looks the most that could be done is clean the circular filter screen.

    Fuel Pressure Regulator 885174 - Repair/Replace

Any recommendations? I see a few different makers for this regulator.

    Fuel Pressure Regulator 885174 - Repair/Replace

I have a 2005 MX 6.2L MPI with Bravo 3 s/n 0W061713. 885174 comes back as the fuel regulator. Why are these regulators so darn expensive? Can they be cleaned/repaired or should it just be replaced if there is an issue with the regulator?

Cool Fuel Gen 3 Module Sea Water Connection

In the continuing saga from my other post in flushing my engine out from all the mud I sucked in, I pulled the cooling hose bracket off the fuel module to flush out the module. It looks like while trying to remove the bracket (because one of the plastic fittings was stuck) it got bent a little...

Flushing out cooling system after sucking in mud

I'm using a 5/8" hose. Never had an issue with it when I had the 204SSi A1G2 outdrive, but maybe because the impeller was in the outdrive closer to the water inlet. I'm going to buy the muffs mentioned in Lou C's post...maybe with the clamp I won't have as much water blowing out prior to...

Flushing out cooling system after sucking in mud

On a quick random tangent, are there any recommended muffs to use on merc I/O? I have the rectangular ones from west marine and I sometime have a problem getting the sea water pump to prime or is it more a water pressure issue on my end?

Flushing out cooling system after sucking in mud

Of course, why sell a $1.00 o-ring when you can just buy the $123 hose assembly :) You're right, probably could easily find the same size o-ring at a NAPA store or similar. I was able to back flush through item 4 and water eventually comes back out the t-stat housing. I did this while the...

Flushing out cooling system after sucking in mud

Is my signature not showing? I'm having a little deja vu again. I've had issues in the past. Sorry about that. 2005 Chaparral 256 SSi - MX 6.2 MPI s/n 0W061713, Bravo 3. 3 point drain, open loop.

Flushing out cooling system after sucking in mud

Lessoned learned yesterday about one of my normal boat launch points....never again leave or return at low tide....not enough depth. So, the obvious outcome is that I sucked up crap load of muck and was able to get to the dock and shut down just as the high temp alarm went off. Got home, put it...

    Kodiak 225 Brake pad replacement

Time for me to replace my pads and I'm wondering if there is a automotive equivalent to the kodiak 225 pads. If there is, is there any difference in using those pads vs buying from kodiak?

Navionics maps on Lowrance chart plotter

So I knew Garmin bought out Navionics but I discovered today that the old web address to Navionic's web chart viewer redirects to a Garmin web address. It's great that the web chart viewer is still accessible but I can no longer do auto-routing for a trip. 1. Are there any other web based chart...

Bravo 3 carrier assembly seal be damaged this way?

I park my trailer on a gravel pad and a couple of weeks ago I noticed that the outdrive was in the full down position with the skeg buried into the gravel along with some of the prop pushing into the gravel. Long story short, I'm guessing one of the rain storms probably seeped into the swim...
