Sylvan Offshore/ Islander V berth. Cushions

I found the brochure on the boat and it appears that it never had a fill in section, so I’ll have to make a platform that is self supporting and a new cushion

Sylvan Offshore/ Islander V berth. Cushions

Anyone know how the V berth cushions fit in? Did all boats get the fill in cushions? Wife and I maybwant to overnight on our new to us Offshore 22 as she would like to do some camping. I think it’s missing center cushion that fits in between the 2 ‘benches’ in the cabin but I don’t even know if...

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

Thanks. I did have a thought about looking into transport tags and it looks like the notary closest to the seller does issue them, so that’s probably my best option.

    Getting impatient

I was getting nervous as in the past I’ve borrowed the plate from a similar boat trailer that I own as most of my trailers have home made trailer status. But as it turns out the guys local notary offers transit tags. I looked it up to be sure.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I’m looking at # 802893Q4 which should be for I/0. I’ll run in line from the fuel selector valve to the fuel pump

Guess I get it mixed up since the state is huge. It was definitely worth it. 1989 Sylvan Offshore 22. The thread on the Bayliner 175 that I posted, I ultimately found that one as an Islander/Offshore was really my dream boat. Hence why I drove almost 6 hours to go look at it. I pick it up in 2...

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

I’m thinking we’re really going to like it. I really like that yes it’s a fishing boat but everything is there to keep it a family boat just the same

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I’m for sure adding a water separator. I’m just getting rid of the can style inline filter between the pump and carb.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I pick the boat up in 2 weeks. I’ll have to inspect it when I get it back. It has an inline fuel filter that runs up to the carb that is rather large ( will be removed ). I suspect that it’s behind that and I just didn’t see it

Laminating 3/4" Coosa to make 1.5" transom

Unless things or processes have changed, CSM is Not compatible with epoxy resin due to the styrene. So the answer would be just biaxial cloth if using epoxy.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

Could be. It looks ‘different’ than normal 3.0l’s with the DIS coil right where the breaker switch usually is, and then the distributior isn’t there so my reference points are a little off along with the dog house on that one being a little hard to work around.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I doubt it. I bet once I look hard I’ll find it.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

I know where it ‘should’ be. I spent probably 5 minutes searching. I didn’t see a tube or hole. I was really scratching my head. I’ll have to really check it out when I get it.

No dipstick on 1989 era 3.0L?

On the 3.0L I just looked at and agreed to buy. I did notice that there is no dipstick or even tube that I can see. It’s a ‘89 model with the short lived DIS ignition. I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the serial numbers. Is there a sight tube? The guy said he just changes it every year...

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

I know. And I got spares. Only weird thing is I cannot find the dipstick. The guy obviously changes the oil as it’s as clean as I’d expect inside with a nice fresh filter. But if SHTF I could drop an entire engine in it if I had to… it’s nice having a selection of parts

    2000’s Bayliner 175 I/O

Welp looks like I’ll own it. It’s solid. Not kind of solid. It needs some tinkering and repairing. The cabin door needs adjustment. Rear seats and the engine cover need recovering. Not because it’s been neglected, it’s simply showing 40 years of age. But the electronics, 9.9 yam with electric...

    1970 StarCraft Sprint V steering.

I really don’t like the Vevor company. BUT their helms actually work okay for a small outboard. Will run $140 and they install as a direct replacement for Teleflex Sea Star. On such a small boat I’d have zero issues with that. My old StarCraft 14’ still has cable drum steering as that’s what...
