    exhaust shutter ticking

    Last run I have a exhaust shutter ticking... is this a noise to be concerned with. It goes away at higher rpms but at idle is noticeable with the engine cover off. Should I R and R? Don't some engines not have these? Thanks

    Wot ... question

    1. I started running a merc 21p laser pro II prop. The boat did 49 (gps) which is great but, I was running at 4400 rpms. This prop has better hole shot then my 19p and it holds my nose down from purposing. But, is 4400 to low I don't want to lug the engine? Manual says to run 4600 I think.
