    1985 70 Johnson Lower unit removal

    I cant believe im asking this...I cant get the lower unit off a 1985 Johnson 70HP, removed all the bolts and it's loose but seems like its hanging by the shift rod. How do you disconnect the shift rod? I'm a sterndrive guy im used to the lower unit just coming off... Thank you

    1982 80HP Merc Stuck in gear after replacing the impeller HELP!!!

    I just replaced the impeller in my friends boat which has a 1982 80HP and now its stuck in forward, even when you spin the shaft that goes into the shift rod it still just stays in forwards. It never had any problems shifting before. I'm lost I have no idea what it could be.

    I am wondering if a sterndrive from a 3.0 work on a boat with a 2.3 Ford. I was told the 2.3 boat had a drive with a "small bullet" I was wondering if the 3.0 is a small or large bullet and how I could tell the difference?

    Does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement for the seal on the bottom of outboard hoods? I've got some mid 70s Johnnyrude V4 hoods that are nice but the seals are cracked, the dealership told me they're discontinued and I'm sure they would want a small fortune if they could get them.
