    Cut holes in doghouse?

Thanks Matt, I do have a very small drip in there that must be coming from the manifold but it wasn’t enough that I was going to do it this year.

    Cut holes in doghouse?

I have a 1979 120hp OMC that runs just fine with the doghouse raised but the idle roughens up when I put the doghouse back down. Is it so airtight that it is starving the carb of air? Could really use some help before I use my new 3 1/2 “ hole saw to put a couple vents in the front of it. Thanks...

    1979 OMC Gear Lube

Oh ya I’m aware, I feel like I stole someone’s kid when I ask an OMC question and the next thing you hear is junk it. I got the whole kit and kaboodle for $500 because the guy couldn’t store it anymore. There’s lots to do but me and my son are determined to fish out of her this summer. The guy...

    1979 OMC Gear Lube

Ok it’s going to be a bit before I get to the vertical drive shaft but now that you explained that I have written that down on what started as a memo and looking like an encyclopedia. Does the gear oil need to be specific(75w140 example) or just high performance, etc. Thanks again.

Ok I just loosened both slot head screws on the starboard side of the drive and the only lube in there was on the end of the screw! I’m hoping it as just drained for the winter? I’m still waiting for my parts manual so I would like to know if I can just go ahead and get some OMC Sea lube and top...
