Awfull time launch & retrieve roller trailer

Spray silicone might have the same effect with less environmental impact.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

I have one of those for my table saw. They work great.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

Personally, I'd just slap some PB in there with a 3" putty knife and then smooth the fillet using a large spoon. (Buy one at the Dollar Store.) I suppose a caulking tube would work, but that sounds like a messy pain in the behind to me. One helpful tip for smoothing fillets: after you have...

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

It's a bit late, but the things you want to make sure are: 1. Thickness of transom (transom core + fiberglass + peanut butter) is between 2" and 2.25" 2. The exterior of the transom (where the gimbal housing meets the exterior of the hull) is perfectly flat top to bottom and side to side. 3...

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

I used a small heater to keep temps above 70. Cooler temps will definitely affect curing time.

    Thru hull

MarineTex (or PC11) or 4200. I would never use silivone.

    dash cams

This may have more features than you need, but it is very highly recommended on a truck forum I frequent. https://a.co/d/jjIJKss

Question/Advice: Fiberglass over old Fiberglass In Bilge Area.

You can sand, but it will take a long time... I'd start with 40 or 60 grit paper on an orbital sander. You can get a 4.5" corded grinder from Harbor Freight for about $15. That would save you a whole lot of time...

New canvas bow cover rolling at edges, solutions?

It’s easy to add snaps to both the boat and the cover. That’s where I’d start.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

I took the screws out because I didn't want to take a chance on drilling into a screw if I had to install any kind of thru-hull fitting. I filled the holes with thickened resin before I skinned the transom core with fiberglass. For applying the peanut butter, I used a large (4" or 6") plastic...

    Kicker on a CC?

I don't like the emissions of the old 2 stroke engines, but we have a 4 hp 2-stroke outboard, a 9.9 2-stroke outboard and a 9.9 4-stroke Mercury outboard. I would trade the finickiness of the Mercury 4-stroke in a minute for a simple, reliable 2-stroke. Maybe we have a lemon, but we never know...

    Question about water in bilge

A cellphone (or a GoPro) on a selfie stick taking video (while the boat is in the water and the engine is running) can help you see in places that might otherwise be hard to reach.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

If you're worried about strength, CSM won't add much anyway. You'd want to add a layer or two of 1708. Personally, I would not bother. I would do as @Chris51280 suggests, though, and make sure the area around the transom is ground free of gelcoat, so that your tabbing has a good layer of pink...

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

24 hours is plenty. In reality, overnight would probably be sufficient as long as you’re not stressing it too much.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

When working with any resin, it’s a good idea to use a respirator that filters organic vapors. You likely can buy replacement filters for your current respirator that will work with polyester or epoxy. I made peanut butter using poly resin, cabosil (aka fumed silica) and chopped strand fibers...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Looks good, and quite honestly, you have become the poster child for why you should follow good PPE practices to start with! Looks like you're done with the crummy part. On to the fun stuff!

Help Getting Boat on EZLoader Trailer

On my trailer, the correct depth is when the wheel fenders are submerged. That can change a bit at very shallow (or steep) ramps, but submerged fenders are my indicator.

Any Transom experts here. I have a Transom Rebuilding Question.

Holes should be perpendicular to the transom, just like @Chris51280 says.
