Restoration project - 1965 AlumaCraft Maracaibo

Nice job RR. Question: do you plan to put the ply on top of the I beam as shown in your pic ? If so, it will span above the ribs, for the most part, and be quite springy with no support underneath. If the ply went into the channel of the I beam, with appropriate size dado cuts to match the...

    17 oz 45 deg. bias

Wasn't aware of the shelf life, maybe they rotate stock ? Seems they would for wear dated stuff, will check. Thanks ! Also, there is an auto paint / body supplier nearby that wants 70 gal for a different brand and keeps all of the catalyst at the checkout counter. Not sure why ? Thieves, UV...

    17 oz 45 deg. bias

Local surplus store has a large roll of fiberglass. Bought a piece to check out. It is 13" wide on a roll about 200 > 300 foot long (est). $1 per foot, = $9 per sq. yd. = no bargain, except savings on shipping ... which equals out pretty good considering US Composites current $'s. By my scale...

#8 Coarse = 32 Fine =36 TPI #10(3/16") " 24 " 32 " I they are not metric, they are most likely #10-24 The diameter measurement is likely a bit under .1875" due to the triangulation of the thread.

Bolts/screws boke off, thread/pipe tap -size? Alpha One Gen 2

I'm not familiar with what Merc. uses, but that looks like a triangular thread, self tapping type screw. Typically used in aluminum or other soft (or thin) material for rapid production assembly. You just drill a hole slightly smaller in diameter than the screw and insert the screw. A little...
