    I’ve got everything back together per the manual. The drive shaft is VERY hard to turn (clockwise) by hand. Using all my strength i can barely turn it. Is this normal??? If i back off the 4 bolts it turns easier. Torquing to 80 in lb.

    Again, i appreciate the help Chris. I went ahead and dropped the LU. I can see where it is needed now and why it is not imperative. That said i think i will go with the weatherstrip adhesive as it should set up faster. This is what appears was on the old assembly.

    Thanks. So if i understand correctly, as long as motor is left tilted down, even if in snow, water (or melting snow) cannot find its way to somewhere that it can freeze and cause damage. Correct?

    I need to get all the water out of my 1996 evinrude 50 outboard. Do all i need to do is leave it tilted down? Once it drains….does it need to stay down or can i tilt back up? If i leave it down, it will soon be buried in snow.

    Thank you. The parts site i have been using suggests Champion QL78YC, under model number E50ESLEUR. Any harm in using this one? I have already purchased. FWIW I did also purchase a Seloc manual but it is not exactly model specific.

    I am not sure what ignition it has. It is a coil type with a coil that feeds both cylinders. Information is hard to find. Which is why i’ve turned to forums. If you know what it has, please share!
