"Christmas staff fund charge" on my marina bill?

The discount tire near me has an automated system. The guy hooks up 4 individual air hoses to each tire and presses a button and walks away or he might stand there and chat with you while it does it thing. The machine checks the pressure and fills accordingly until the pressure matches the...

"Christmas staff fund charge" on my marina bill?

So if a guy working at a huge bank took "chump change, practically nothing" lets just say $0.02 out of every account and made off with the money, that would be ok with you? its just 2 cents right?

Fuel leaking from foot 1986 50 hp Yamaha

your welcome, but if I am understanding you correctly, you are only having this issue when you have the motor lifted. If you dont have this leaking issue when in the lowered position, I dont believe you have any issue with the pump.

Fuel leaking from foot 1986 50 hp Yamaha

If you have no leaks in the lowered position, I would think this is what is going on. pump up the primer bulb in the lowered position and you should feel it harden up when all the bowls are full. you can overpower the needle and seat by hand but you should be able to tell if you have an issue or...

Fuel leaking from foot 1986 50 hp Yamaha

now im one year new to owning an outboard motor but from what i do know about carburetors (many years of other small engine work and experience) and have learned with the outboard I have is that the float only holds the needle against the seat in a fairly level position. when you raise the motor...

Help to identify the boat year and model.

same for Michigan. I have heard comments like above more than a few times and wonder what the deal is. I have only had one issue trying to get a boat in my name and it was due to a very old bank lean on the boat. We have found a legal way around our unique situation and working on it now.

55HP Chrysler outboard backfiring no start HELP!

Torque flywheel nut is not a suggestion, It is a requirement. I thought I was good this last summer and then,,, I wasn't. Not a great time when you get out on the water, let off the throttle a mile off shore and your flywheel comes loose.

    Safety chains are hot?

I have owned a few trailers with wire harnesses that do not use a ground, while I have owned many more that do. In the cases that I have seen no ground, expecting the hitch to do the grounding, It usually is a poor ground situation causing lights to not work correctly or at least consistently...

    Stator hook up

I will answer your question with a question as I truly don't know. If it didnt matter, then why would the manufacture use different colored wires?

    1974 Merc 1500 Telltale issue

Dont you love it when someone comes on with an honest question and gets an honest good answer but then gets berated for answering. Many motors, not all, have issues running on muffs. I am new to boating and that is one of the first things I have learned. My muffs are now used to hold the hose...

Mercury 60 CTS with Crushed Line

agree with racerone, if your Speedo worked before, I would guarantee it don't now. you should be able to trim the ends clean then take a piece to a local hardware store. you should be able to find something to fit the 2 pieces back together. maybe something like this would work...

    Stringer encapsulation.( Air pockets.)

keep in mind that I'm a professional jack of no trades, but in my opinion, what you have done will make the parts last 40 years or more. The resin you soaked into the wood prior to adding the fiberglass mat is way more than what they did at the factory of my project boat better than 50 years ago...

How would you do this transom?

do yourself a favor when splitting the cap off the boat. take your time, use a heat gun to "WARM" up the insert as you remove it. try your best to salvage your rub rail as you will find this is expensive replacement, unless you planned on replacing with new.

How would you do this transom?

I have heard this kind of reply a lot over the last 6 months or so. Sure, Marine plywood isnt cheap but one sheet should be enough to rebuild the transom, $120 +/-, Resin is not cheap, $130 +/- per gal kit, Foam, stringer wood, fiberglass mat, another $300 +/- maybe. Now if you enjoy this kind...

    Flywheel occasionally locks up

I thought you stated that the problem was still there with all removed, spinning crank with the flywheel nut. attach a photo of the top view with the flywheel removed only.

    Flywheel occasionally locks up

that is really odd that this new problem came at this time. Is there any way some loose part made its way into the internals of the engine while you was doing this work? or maybe there was always something laying inside and while you was working on it moved the motor in a way that dislodged it...

    Flywheel occasionally locks up

Pull the flywheel off, Look for any spots on the flywheel, inside, underside, bottom or outside. sounds like something may have been left loose or just not fitting properly and rubbing. I have seen where stator bolts was replaced and the head was just a little bit bigger and caused binding once...

optional engine cover for 1971 Johnson 50

Racerone, I dont think he intended to hurt any feelings, unless you guys have a history I havent seen. I have seen other forums have a map built in, It is actually nice for the reason you mention as you may have a close member that could use your help. But if you did have a map you can pin me in...

optional engine cover for 1971 Johnson 50

Mid Michigan here. Yes I have looked on Ebay but when you look for a 1971 hood you get a 1971 hood. What I am asking is, if there are other options than the 1971-1973 that fit. I would like to have more options in what is available to purchase.
