    4.3 MPI Possible ECM issues

Are the sensors outputting a digital value, or are they outputting a varying voltage? If the output is an analogue voltage them you should be able to measure that voltage on the "adjustable" wire. (Third pin/wire.) going to the ECM. If the output is "digital" that can be measured with the...

    Ford 289 intake manifold

"Put a small mirror into ports and see if the casting below the bolt hole has broken off" If it doesn't appear that way then I would suspect it was a casting error. Who knows, maybe they are all that way.

    Ford 289 intake manifold

The thread on the bolt mashed up against the thread in the manifold should negate any path for air to enter into the intake stream. Put a small mirror into ports and see if the casting below the bolt hole has broken off because someone may have inserted too long a bolt or possibly the factory...

I did check one Mercruiser P/N and they were the same. You can also check the other variants but it appears on...

    3.0 mercruiser valve adjustment

You can make a leak down tester if you have a way to regulate the air source. It is easily made from a compression tester and you ONLY need one gauge! Just put a shutoff valve past the fixed orifice and the gauge, then the gauge can be used to read regulated pressure (100 psi) when closed and...

    3.0 mercruiser valve adjustment

One more thing. They used to make a clip for SBC's that you put over the push rod oil hole in the rocker arm that had some sort of fabric to keep the oil from squirting all over the engine while it's running. Rocker arm deflector clips. Similar to these... www(dot)summitracing...

    3.0 mercruiser valve adjustment

Are the lifters correct OEM for the application? To me it seems like the lifters won't bleed down correctly. I've seen so called anti-pump up lifters in the past which wouldn't bleed down. Those obviously were not factory lifters. We got past the issue by bringing the push rods to zero clearance...
