    Gasket sealant?

    15 hp Evinrude. Doing an impeller change. Thoughts on using a gasket sealant on the silver plate? Yes or no? I’ve seen it done both ways. I personally never have done it and I’ve changed about 10 impellers? Thx

    What is this stuff?

    Purchased this motor awhile back. Converted it to short shaft. Got it running. It’s running on both cylinders. Ran it with muffs. Pulled lower unit to change impeller and pressure test. What is this stuff? Could it be sea foam or some type of fogging that is just burning off? Thx

    Carb help please

    1993 Evinrude 15hp. I just converted this long shaft to a short shaft and had someone rebuild the carb. Why would fuel or whatever be coming out of this hole. It looks like old gas, but the carb was taken apart and cleaned. It’s not the gas I have in my tank. My gas has a blueish tint to it. Thx.

    Shift lever?

    Hey guys I’m converting a 1993 Evinrude 15hp from long shaft to a short shaft. When changing out the shift linkage do you just screw one out and screw the other one in till it bottoms out then you make the proper alignment?

    Looking at 9.8 mercury or 9.9 depending on years. Are there any particular years that were just really bad motors? I know the Evinrude 9.9 and 15hp 74-76 were not the best years. Thx

    1982 Evinrude 7.5 carb or fuel pump?

    Hey guys, 1982 7.5. Motor idles great, but when I try to give it full throttle, it dies. Will not start back until I open choke. Pulled carb cleaned everything. Put carb back on and motor is doing same thing? What could be wrong?

    1976 Evinrude 15hp. Upgrade exhaust cover?

    I have a 76 Evinrude 15hp. Water just comes out the back. Question, is it worth the trouble of putting an exhaust cover from a 77 on this motor just to have an actual tell tale? I think I have to take the powerhead off to get to the bottom bolt? Thx

    I have a 1976 Evinrude 15hp, but after doing research and some comments on here. The 74-76 were bad motors. I’m looking at selling the 15 and buying a 77 or newer 9.9. Thoughts and opinions? Thx

    1982 Evinrude 7.5. Carb issue.

    Hey guys took a 7.5 Evinrude out today for a test run. It ran great for awhile, then as I was coming back to the dock at full throttle it died. It started back with choke on, but would die again if I tried WOT. Float issue?
