Did the roll on unwaxed coat and then a waxed coat today. if I decide to do another waxed layer tomorrow, do I really need to sand? Or wipe with acetone and roll it on? If someone also wouldn’t mind advising start with what grit and end with what grit to finish? Then buff? Then wax?

    Gelcoat

Sanded boat right down to original gelcoat. Dumb question of day. I plan three or four coats of gelcoat rolled on my topside. I only have waxed gelcoat, can I roll on multi coats of waxed gelcoat while still tacky without sanding or do I have to use unwaxed resin and then waxed on the final...

    In the process of Sanding?

A question experienced painters might find humour in but it’s serious. I got a 11 foot by 6’ deck and another 5’ by 3’ deck under the bow to gelcoat. Plan is grit in the gelcoat for slippage and some web solution at the end for show. Two coats of gelcoat for sure. Not wanting to sand if I...

    In the process of Sanding?

After I started sanding off the Canadian Tire crap paint that was peeling off my recently acquired Sangster boat, I read I was to degrease before sanding... I'm sanding down into a second layer that has to go then should be good to prep for primer. How big a deal was it not to degrease before...

    Spray Epoxy?.

You can mix colors with the Raptor liner. Can go over top with a new layer down the road if it needs it and floor is still good. UV shouldn't be a problem if as advertised.

    Spray Epoxy?.

I changed a I/O hull to a outboard. I have my 3/8” plywood pieces for the motorwell cut and capped with 1-1/8” wooden dowel. I’m looking at matting and fibreglassing the pieces and wondering if there isn’t a easier way than cutting and applying Mat and fiberglass to encapsulate the pieces. Many...

    Using 2 different epoxy brands

I am epoxying a layer of new mat on a section of floor I replaced. My question is I may run out of the epoxy I'm using and have to buy a different brand. Can I use the new brand while the first epoxy has been applied and still wet or does it need to cure first then carry on with the new epoxy?
