    if the fuel system leakes before the lift pump on motor, it can suck air in. pumping the primer bulb would fill the VST so the pump inside of it could pump the rail up. running the VST pump without fuel in the VST to pump, cannot cool and lube that pump and harm it. but if the problem shows...

    My only thought is the motor runs fine with no load on the motor, but with a load there is not enough fuel to handle the load make sure the fuel rail pressure is in spec

    My thoughts ,if you were getting water into a cylinder you would see signs of it on the spark plugs.

    run it in the normal mode. open is to help get the motor runing if you cannot get it to start when in normal due to plugged up automatic system once started in open you should turn it to closed or it will run too rich

    possibly a lean sneeze probably because you had the red lever in the closed position and the automatic enrichment system could not add extra fuel when motor is cold. or you have other carb problems

    depends on what is causing the cylinder to drop. a flooding carb and a leaking fuel pump dumping fuel into the crankcase that provides the pulse to operate the pump , will cause over rich fuel problems to some cylinders Idle jets and passages, off idle ports, and main jets can affect the motor...

    good to here it was an easy fix. I guess you found a loos electrical connector. never know what you can find as a problem
