225BR hull construction vs. engine size... any differences?

Don't read too much into it in terms of build quality . . . I like to search for factory tour videos to gain insight into a particular brand's build process. I found this one. . .

Connect alternator outputs of two motors to battery bank

Might be a stator (on the small OB) vs. an alternator on the larger OB. It would be best to have a battery isolator in between.

225BR hull construction vs. engine size... any differences?

Doubtful that Crownline or other manufacturers do differently on the hull layup per engine option. If a 7.4L was not offered on that model, then it might be a force fit. I agree w/ Scott on a 6.2 vs. the 7.4L

    Trailer Tongue Too Long?

Extended tongues are often used for sailboat launching. Usually the tongue extension is done at/near the ramp just before launching.

    Trailer Tongue Too Long?

I'm 4 years into my 37 foot trailer. I only tow it a couple time a year, but learning to make more subtle moves on the steering wheel, which is helping immensely.

    Trailer Tongue Too Long?

Learn to back up. . . The tongue weight will go up if you shorten the tongue. Not sure if the hinge will be OK with that. It may also prompt you to make other changes for weight balance. Could be a can of worms.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Mystery solved . . . It was a flakey valve stem (valve actually). When I check the pressure it starts leaking. When I check it again it stops leaking. Looks like a new valve stem should do it. :D

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Quick update . . . This morning I checked the suspect tire and it was flat (again). So, there must be something going on. Soapy water has not revealed anything . . . So, I have the tire in a dunk tank, looking for bubbles.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

"80 mph" towing your RV trailer . . . Not sure there is a recommended speed (RPM) for trailer tires

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

I took some measurements and this is what I came up with for balance point (referenced from the center axle) . 13,600 lbs. total Weight . . . . So the balance point looks to be right over the forward axle. Tongue weight is 9%. EDIT: Corrected my diagram above.

Need help: Bizarre Bravo III freshwater galvanic corrosion quandry

It does not look like your anodes are depleting (if they have been on for a couple of months). If they are not depleting, then they are not working. Are you using the 'star' washers to get a good electrical bond to the anodes? The corrosion does not look too bad, except for the steering pin...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Yes, in my reading on tri-axle trailers, the weight should be a little bit forward, which makes sense. It just seems quite a bit forward, but maybe it is OK. In terms of a 60/40 split, I assume it would be referenced to the center axle. Last time I measured the tongue weight it was 1,260 lbs...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

This trailer incident has got me thinking about the balance point on the trailer. . . . According to the Mfg spec./drawing the balance point of the boat is 104" forward of the transom keel. . I measured that point on the trailer . . . . It puts it at the rear edge of the front tire. I...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Yes, someone letting the air out . . . another possibility. I had a situation with my car a few weeks ago parked in a parking lot over night. The left rear tire was down about 10 psi. I figured it was a nail or something. But upon re-inflating the tire, it has stayed at the inflation psi for...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

The tire seems to be fine having driven flat the 1-2 miles back to my house @ 20 ish mph. Just doing the math . . . > The tires are rated for 2800 lbs each. So, 5,600 vs. 8,400 with one tire out of action (of 3 tires). > The axles are rated at 5,200 lbs each (2,600 lb/wheel) getting to the...
