    Small or large gear case ?

    Can anyone tell me the difference in a small and large gear case in an Evinrude engine ? I see this referenced regarding different props in some articles. Mine is a 70 hp 1975 model. I would think it would be the large one. thanx Patrick

    follow up to fish and ski rooster tail problem

    I finally got to take pics of the engine mount and height. At planing speed, I have a symmetrical V shaped rooster tail shooting up and the boat catches a little water from it. The load in the boat at the time of the test was around 400 pounds. Engine is centered on transom and seems level...

    I bought a 75 16' magnum fish and ski, powered by an Evinrude 70. Clean as a whistle and runs like it is show room new. Problem is, when it is planed out, there is a V shaped rooster tail shooting straight out and slightly forward, symmetrical, and the boat is catching a little water from it...
