I have replaced the water pump in my 70's Mercury 115 hp, in line 6 "Tower of Power". I have everything back together a few times but had some other issues which are now fixed. I get the motor to within 1 inch of going back but something won't let it slide all the way in. Any tricks out there?
I had to take the lower leg off to replace the water pump. When I put it back together it now starts in gear. How do I set the shift connector on the lower leg to the right position?
I have a 1070's late model, in-line 6, 115 hp. mercury. It has worked great over the years. This spring I changed my leg oil and the next day I noticed oil dripping from my water intake. Anyone have any suggestions or know how complicated this might be to fix?

I have searched the serial numbers and I cannot find mine. I think it is between a 1979 and 1983. It is in-line 6 cylinder, 115 according to the cowling. The serial number is 7025741. Any ideas please???

I have tried to cross reference my serial numbers and they don't show up. The cowling says it's a 115. It's one of the tall in-line sixes with a number of 7025741. Any ideas out there?
