This is my private pit that we just built a home on. Haven't had much time to do much in the pit until just recently. Just built a dock out 10' and is why I know the bottom is mucky.
I wouldn't know where to even begin doing that. I didn't think a strip pit would have such muck on the bottom to sink into. There is a bank with a slight slope but the water isn't but a couple feet deep for a ways out. I put a 10foot long dock in and was only about crotch deep including...
I have a 55HP tractor with a front-end loader (no trailer hotch on that) BUT do have clamp on forks and thought originally that I would lift the stern up and drive the trailer out from under that end, sit it down and lift the bow up enough to drive out from under it. After reading about it...
I realize this is an old post but I have bought a 20' pontoon that I replaced the decking and carpeting on to put into our strip pit that has NO ramp. It is on a bunk trailer and I'm trying to figure out how to get it into the pit without tearing it up. The bottom seems to be about shin deep...
I have had some local inquiries about parting out this motor but I know nothing about it. The marina stated it had power trim but didn't say anything about tilt. Beings I have no idea what is what on this motor does it have both power tilt and trim or can it have one or the other? Any idea of...
I don't know but the electrical harness was unplugged in the motor and the diagnosis was as stated above. No fire and a horn going off made me think maybe a reader of some sort.
I suspect they plugged some sort of diagnostic
I suspect they put some sort of diagnostic reader into the wiring harness and didn't do much more than that. Might have put a bore scope into the #3 and 4low compression cylinders to see scoring as they did specify, they were scored. Looked like...
Got a 20 ft pontoon that I replaced the decking and carpet on this winter to use as a dock on our 4.5 acre pit. Removed the console, steering mechanism & controls that went to the old motor and have not replaced them. It looks so nice I hate to just dock it but the 40HP motor is way too big and...
Bought a 20 ft pontoon to use on our pit and it came with this 40 HP motor. It is a 1990 Merc. 40HP, ELPTO, 4 cylinders with a serial number of OC226261. It is oil injected. Pulled it off as it is too big for our use and decided to have it checked out at the local marina due to having sat for...
I've been restoring a 1991 Playcraft pontoon that has a 1990 40HP Mercury Classic outboard on it. I got the boat without any keys and have taken the throttle controller off as part of the restoration. I took the key switch out to find a number on it that is 240-2E. I see replacement 2E keys...
Didn't get any replies to my other post so thought I'd just ask about the trolling motor on the 1991 Playcraft pontoon I am refurbishing. I am working on the trolling motor and it seems to make no sense to me as to what was on the boat. It had two batteries, but both were junk and not even...
I am working on a 1991 Playcraft 20' pontoon that I bought earlier this year. I have replaced the decking and put new carpeting in it and now turning to the means of propulsion. It has an older mid 1990's Motorcraft model 740 bow mount trolling motor on it with a foot controller, that I know...
Decided to redo it the way it was and found foundation plywood treated the old style. Had to special order it but got the same thing that came off it that was made 35 years ago.
