Being new to my boat and motor... I wanted to know a little more about using the pressure fuel tank I have. 50s era.
Once I am under way and using the motor, I understand pressure is key.
However, if I am trolling down the river, and its hot...do I need to constantly release the pressure?

The wood I have on my trailer, looks pretty "original"...it is about 2.5x4.5 ish....
I have some 2x4s I just put a couple coats of spar on, and am now wondering if I have wasted my time and need to upgrade to a 2x6?
They are on edge, not flat.

I have no idea how to get this thing out.. I have tried to pinch it with needle nose pliers, pound it out with a punch, sprayed it with silicone...

While testing my 1955 Evinrude Fleetwin 7.5, I am noticing a fairly good amount of smoke. It isn't consistent and only lasts for about 5-10 seconds after start but its there.
I am going 50/1 mixture.
It hasn't ran very much over the past few years so am just wondering if it is kind of...

I also noticed that the "button" on the top of the push rod, does NOT rotate freely... it feels like it is fixed to the rod itself...
There is actually a little pin that seems to be holding the two together.
And from this angle, you can really see how crooked...
So I am just about there to getting my restored fuel tank and outboard fully functional and leak free.
I am able to continuously get fuel to the motor.
The only leak I am noticing on the fuel tank now is coming right out of the primer push button rod.
Fairly significant, but not gushing.

If I recall... and I cant find it anymore, during my research, there was a site that stated the Fuel Foot Valve and Fuel Line had some sort of "check disc valve" inside of it???
And if its properly operating you should be able to shake the fuel foot valve and line and hear it rattle?

I think the term "riveted" is being use a little loosely...
There are not actual rivets, or a single rivet holding the two washers together....
It more looks like it was machine pressed, and had a hole punched right through it...
