Hey guys, I have a 1984 KingFisher 15ft 6in fiberglass boat that has a 6ft rod locker fiberglassed in on the opposite side as the console. If I cut it out will there be any rigidity issues you think?

I just bought a 1984 KingFisher 156 with original johnson 40. There were some soft spots so hey why not replace, its my first boat and it will only take a weekend, haha then I tore it apart and found this forum. For two weeks I feel it has come a long way.
Both front and rear deck were rotten...
