Hi Just an update on this if I may.
The fuel lines needed tightening around the fuel shut off valve; access was limited so I had to cut a couple of access holes in the area. Pressure tested with a hand pump all now fine.
Managed to siphon a couple of gallons first just to sample… see...
Thank you for your responses.
I had resigned myself to remove the old fuel but I did initially wanted to check if it could have been used in an old car at say 10% mixed with fresh.
My main concern was removing via the new filter thereby checking the new copper fuel lines back to the tank and...
Long Question – short answer…
I have recently installed a brand new engine and as such I have replaced all the fuel lines and filter etc. to accommodate the larger diameter fuel feed.
I also have about 40 gallons of stabilised fuel (gasoline) in my fuel tank that has been sitting for about 2...
Hi Thank you for the responses... It is the SeaCore Version.
The kit has 3 straight connectors but it is for a variety of Mercruiser engines including the 6.2L.
For mine, the instructions it just shows the coolant crossover unit on it own and not the location. Looks like I have to drain the...
Hi, I have a brand new Mercruiser 6.2L 350HP V8 recently installed with a Bravo3 Sterndrive.
Does anyone have a picture of the engine water take-off points for a calorifier?
I have the manual and the correct kit but this only shows a partial schematic and its probably me being thick!!, but I...
Hi, his boat with identical boat and engine, clean hull and medium load was tested with various sets of test props and then the engine running data ran through the mercury prop selector tool and they came to a conclusion of 21" props. Now .. the only difference is the possibility of slightly...
Hi .. complete new installation so no props yet and working out what would be best. The 21's on the identical boat and setup could be the way to go. I could try those for a season and if needed, update to another set. It will not hurt to have a spare set. My worry is the loading, as I cannot...
Hi, I would also say that this is a complete new engine and drive installation as part of a renovation project and as such have no meaningful data to go on.
It would be handy to find a prop selector that works as the Mercruiser one doesn't even have my drive gear ratio as part of the drop down list.
Hi apologies will look at that. The difference in weight dimensions etc. is identical, however what I don't know but trying to find out is the drive gear ratio.
Hi
I have a Mercruiser Bravo 3 drive and I have been speaking to the owner of an almost identical boat and same engine, his boat was tested with a set of test props and then the engine running data ran through the mercury prop selector tool and they came to a conclusion of 21" props.
This gave...
Hi, thank you for your responses.
I am using an engine hoist on wide plywood sheeting on the ground, as the casters do not run well in the boatyard to position the drive in place and I have a pry bar to level the bell housing.
I will probably withdraw the sterndrive and re-check, clean the...
Hi, Apologies next question…
I have managed to install the Sterndrive up to the point where I have about a 1 inch gap but it doesn’t seem to want to go further. I have tried to raise or lower and different manoeuvres to push it further but it appears to stop at this point, my guess it’s at the...
The straps on the trim cylinder bars is a good idea, I will try that.
I have re-checked and the alignment is slightly off (engine too high) as the alignment tool is not going fully home. It looked o/k at the time but that was before I knew that it had to go to the first shoulder. So, with a...
