I have a mercury 500 50hp serial # 3479512 I think its a 1973 with a tiller handle, the motor is done but I found a 1978 mercury 500 serial # 4963913 think its a 1978. I been trying to look up to see if the tiller handle will fit the 78 model.
I have tried looking for part numbers but no luck so...
I have 1998 25hp that is losing power after five min. Of full open and sometimes it dies but will start back up and go but not top speed. Starts out at 20mph and slows down to 10 or so.
Replaced fuel line and connectors but no change.

bonz_d , it has 2 short bunks in rear and 3 keel roller in center. and someone added 2 short 12" bunks up front but where they are it will dent the hull so I wanted to replace with 2 longer bunks about 7' long.
I searched old threds but didn't find the answers so I thought I shoul ask.
