Do i need to cut a hole in my floor to but pedastal seating . I have tonggle boats that i can use to spread the weight. But i know the floor is strong . Or can i just screw the base into the stingers and ribs.

I have 1999 cutter grew ski and fishing boat. I just bought a Minn Kota power drive and reading instructions do not help i need a visual to see how its done .Can anyone help cause really dont want to screw up cause the boats in great shape. thx
