    K&N air filters......yay or nay ?

    They actually replaced mine a few times. Apparently they have a tendency to shrivel up in some applications. Mine shrank to the point that it wouldn't fit in the holder. Kind of annoying. Also kind of bad for filtration.

    Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

    Old man looks happy. This is a little more flat out. First time I've seen the thing finished running around. Now I understand why everyone says it looks sketchy when I'm running in the chop. Certainly doesn't feel like that much is coming out in it. Glad he's happy and had a great time.

    I have one in the corvette not by choice... no one makes a paper filter for it anymore. For the couple thousand it gets driven a year it's fine. I wouldn't use one on a daily.

    I've had some outboards with really good dock manners. But I agree... they tend to be less decisive, particularly in reverse. My 4winns with the I/O is particularly good around the dock. A lot of people have run it and are surprised because people associate single I/O woth wandering in reverse...

    I think raising them is going to get you where you want to/need to be.

    Does it just sit low or is it sitting low because it is water logged. I only ask because at that age and being new to you there can be some underlying issues making things worse.

    My side job ends next week. The weeks leading up to thanksgiving are the best boating you'll ever get. And I finally have time to do all the stuff I've put off all summer because I'm busy... Including your soty plaque. :oops:

    So like 30-33 mph is the "sweet spot' it seems. That tracks with most V-hulls I've had.
