After doing some more research it seems like my hub face measurement is 92 inches and center of springs would be 76in.
I can’t seem to find anything in this size readily available online. I can find 93in hub face but spring perches would have to be welded not a big deal.
Any suggestions?
Looking to figure out which axle I need to buy for a replacement.
I am trying to make this trailer as worry free as possible. I was going to do bearings, seals, etc. but signs of rust the brakes no longer work and are gutted. I want to just replace it with a standard 3500# axle. These are the...
I tried to upload a picture of the boat today it says “too large” not sure how to shrink it down. It has the typical seating arrangement with the back2back seats and in the rear it has th dog house with seats on either side which can be moved up flush with the top of the dog house for I guess a...
We ended up going with the Rinker 192
Looked at a Stingray in between.
The Rinker ended up being local, original owner, friend of a friend. Interior is actually in decent shape, no rips in the seats, I couldn’t find a soft spot in the floor. Needs to be cleaned up from winter storage, only...
I went and looked at a Glastron with a VEC hull today and what a disappointment. The entire hull was cracked and patched with who knows what. Got inside the boat and the floor was spongy in front of the engine compartment. I was there for probably 10 minutes max.
I still plan on going to look...
I’ve had probably 15 boats personally, grew up boating with my family, my in laws have had boats since I’ve known them. I’ve been around a decent amount of boats lol. I don’t think I’d go on candlewood when I’ve been out there the weekends have been pretty wild.
Trail and error as in if it...
Thanks for all the input everyone. This is going to be more of a trail and error type boat, where we can get the feel for it and to see if we even enjoy it. I’ve always enjoyed being on the lake. The boat will only be in fresh water on some lakes around here in CT.
I found an original owner...
Been a while since I’ve been on the water, never been on the water since having a family, now that the kids are older it’s something I’m looking to get back into. I’ve had all sorts of boats when I was younger-so not technically new to boating but new to boating as a family.
I can find 19ft...
Thanks for the info. Basically I’m looking for an inexpensive boat for the family. I’ve owned 10+ boats previously but they weren’t geared towards taking a 3 year old and 5 year old out. Mainly bass boats or Bayliner trophy’s.
This would be more of a trail to see how the kids like it and how...
Thanks for the info. The seats are showing age. But owner claims floors solid with no soft spots and engine runs great.
I’m not a fan of swaps because you truly never know if they’re done right. IMO.
Might be worth the 45 min ride to check it out.
I’m looking at an 88 Fourwinns 180 horizon.
It has a 5.7 merc, w/ a mercrusier out drive.
From everything I’ve gathered online these boats either came with an outboard engine or a OMC engine/drive. Person is not the original owner so they aren’t sure. Did someone possibly swap out the OMC...
I have a 12FT aluminum flat bottom Jon boat that I have on a trailer, problem is when it rains out the boat will fill up with water and it doesn’t currently have a drain plug. So I am looking to add one. Anyone have any ideas or links to a proper drain plug? I attached a couple pics. I was...
Finally got my 88 Ranger fisherman out with the Johnson 110
i was last on it a few years ago when my buddy owned it then it sat and I bought it. I’m an throughly impressed on how well it ran. Normally I’m used to buying a boat and then having to tinker with it to get it to idle after a hard run...
Finally got the new thermostats in. What a NIGHTMARE! Boat runs great now, no more over heating....I can touch cylinder heads without getting burned after running for 30+ min at an idle. Anyways, boat has been in the garage for a few days and there’s a black film like wet oil. Doesn’t feel like...
Trying to change the thermostats on my Johnson 110 VRO bubble back....I can’t find the patience to try and work around the covers and line up springs etc.
my question is does it make more sense to pull the power head or cut an access panel and have it re welded back in?
I know the thermostats...
