    Boat Cover

Keeping this in the Starcraft forum as I'm primarily interested in feedback on these old hulls. Looking for a cover for my MR180. It usually sits in the garage, but I'd like something to keep the dust off over the winter and the occasional times it may sit outside to protect from rain. Also...

    Tiller Main Motor

It all depends on how you mount the kicker. A lot of kickers are short shaft motors, but you can find them pretty easily in a long shaft configuration, and even some 25" setups with the newer options. Splashwells vary from Starcraft model to model as well. My MR180 has a much shallower...

    1972 Starcraft Nova

I'd say at least 2, maybe 3 cans. I don't recall what I used, but I know it was more than one.

    New Journey

I grabbed the trays too, but didn't install them. Figured I'd like the extra cargo space.

    New Journey

They are the Tempress brand. They have a few different sizes, colors, and options available.

    New Journey

Boat took a backseat to some needed landscaping projects and kid's activities, but managed to get the trolling motor batteries all wired up and the front deck in place. The end is near...just need to clean up some of the wiring and get everything buttoned up.

    '77 Holiday Transom

As noted, it's not glued in, just several through bolts and screws under the splashwell. You'll also need to punch out the spashwell drain tubes, remove the corner caps, and bend up the gunnel caps where they cover the transom. You might need to work on it a bit to break it free, but once it's...

    1972 Starcraft Nova

How long do you intend to keep the boat? From the factory, these decks were typically unsealed and lasted many years. Not sure how many coats of Spar you have on there now, but the vinyl should also prevent/minimize any water exposure to the wood once you have it put down. I personally would...

    Lower unit repair

Can these holes just be filled with JB WaterWeld or MarineTex, sanded, and finished, or is there another recommended repair? How about this one - I suppose it would need to have some material welded on, shaped, and finished?

115 6c TOP piston cylinder issue

Not to highjack the thread, but genuinely interested and the information may be helpful to others as well. I plugged my hoses with a BB, but still have both ends connected. Is there any harm in not leaving the barb on the fuel bowl cover open? Great information here, thanks!

    21' 1972 Starcraft Holiday - Splashwell question

Are there a bunch of screws securing the spalshwell to the transom on the underside?

1979 starcraft super sport cable steering to hydraulic steering

Hydraulic steering on a 16SS seems expensive and is overkill in my opinion. I've used the Teleflex SeaStar Rotary 4.2 NFB(no feedback) system on two of my boats and have no complaints.

    New Journey

Wiring was a tedious process and I still have some finish work and wire management left to do, but everything works so far! I took a harness and cut off the plugs on the console side to wire everything in independently. Top mount controls, trim switch, ignition, kill switch, tach, water gauge...

    New Journey

Also got all the "spares" and "projects" tucked away nicely, aside from the extra parts lying around. Need to find a good spot to keep everything organized that's in pieces and not sitting on a motor stand...
