Anybody have any negative experiences with 90/10 ethanol gas? I'm hearing some carbs need re-jetting, gas lines failing, don't add alcohol additives, loss of rpm (can't get to WOT), etc.
Does cupping add to the rated pitch of a prop? Would a cupped 17P still be a 17P if the cupping were ground off? I read that cupping was primarily for "bite" in turns and rough water, and did not affect pitch. True or false? Would a plain 17P have the identical blade countour as a cupped 17P?
Just re-powered with a VP 4.3GXi/SX drive. I'm currently on a VP 3x15x15, and want to go SS with a 3x15x17. I was astonished with the weight of the ss prop - about 14 lbs vs 71/2 lbs with aluminum. And now I recall the Yamahas and Johnson OBs and other I/Os clunking like hell with their SS...
I'm considering a SS for my 2005 VP 4.3GXi/SX. But I'm amazed at how much they weigh as compared to their aluminum counterparts. And I clearly recall the clunking noises as Yamahas and Johnsons were fowarding and reversing their ss props as they entered their slips at the marina last season...
