    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

Here's my rigging to lift or lower the arch. It's just a 2X4 with a 2X6 base to provide a high anchor point. Two ropes aft attach to the cleats and the one on the dash hand bar is just to hold it in place until my block & tackle are hooked up. I made a box to rest the arch on when its lowered...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

Here's what the underside of the arch base looks like so you can see what the pin engages into. The slots cut in the base of the arch and aluminum blocks they engage with are a snug fit to minimize movement. I used the existing bolt hole in the hu.

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

Here are a few pictures of the finished product with the arch up. The arch is made of pipe rolled into shape then filled it with sheet aluminum which is welded to the pipe so its fairly thick at the pivot point. There's an aluminum base plate so I used a cutting dish on a grinder to cut a...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

Unfortunately I didn't document it as it progressed. Going stay on the boat this weekend so I'll get a few pictures of what it looks like with the arch up so check back over the weekend. If I can remember, I'll take pictures of it folded down but it may be a while before I need to do that...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

FYI - if anyone was wondering if were possible to retrofit the arch with a hinge (without having to purchase original parts), I succeeded in doing it for <$300 and all you need is access to a table saw & handheld grinder. It isn't motorized but 2 people can raise or lower it OR 1 with the aid...

2008 Signature 310 trim tab actuator died

If anyone was having the same issue, I contacted Lenco and they said actuator 15057-001 is the part number IF your Chaparral Signature 310 parts guide kit number is 10021-001. Snipping from Chaparral parts guide below.

2008 Signature 310 trim tab actuator died

One of my Lenco trim tab actuators stopped working and as luck would have it, I just put it back in the water 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know what the model number is or has theirs out the water and can send a photo of the numbers or what the part numbers are. Please post part number only for...

Chaparral Signature 310 Fuel Economy - What's yours?

Polling other Chaparral Signature 310 owners, year models 2004-2009 with Volvo 5.0 engines with dual prop drives to see what sort of fuel economy you're getting? My fuel manager (based on what ecm fuel flow shows) is showing 1.0-1.1 MPG @ 25 MPH but on a recent trip it was showing .9 average...

    Chaparral 310 folding arch

Reaching out again to see if anyone has this option. Not having any luck purchasing from the dealer. Also if anyone has taken off their "fixed" arch, how difficult was it?

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

Thanks Scott, spoke with him about 30 minutes and wasn't too reassuring the parts would be available given the year and fact that this was an option so I probably going to have to try to reproduce something and it would be terrific if I could see the internals of the radar arch base to know how...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

We bought the boat but haven't removed the arch or put it on the trailer yet, but it will exceed the height limit. Does anyone have the Signature 310 with the factory installed hinged arch option and willing to share photos with it tilted to see if mine can be retrofitted if they still sell the...

    Water tank geyser

Dirt dobbers are notorious for building nest in the opening, check the vents as suggested. The screens in the vent, to prevent insects from entering, will crust over with corrosion sometimes.

    A/c issue 2002 signature 260

Did you verify the condenser coil was clean as alldodge suggested? Could be iced up and blocking off air flow. If it's icing up the problem could be lint build up acting as a wick to hold moisture then freeze. The other thing I'd check is routing of the duct to make sure it isn't kinked in...

    Chaparral 310 folding arch

I posted this question in another section with little response or replies stating the arch can be removed for transportation, then read parts diagram saw Chaparral did offer a folding arch option. Having seen it in the parts diagram, I began to notice the locking pin on several boats for sale...
