Anyone know if I can remove this without removing the powerhead? I have the lower unit off and all bolts removed. The housing moves freely around but I can't seem to get it far enough back to slide down off the exhaust housing. It's an 84' model. Thanks

I'm trying to clean up and re-paint my 84' Suzuki Outboard. It's pretty corroded and I have alot of black pitting on the lower unit. Does anyone know how to remove this black stuff so that I can prime/paint? I think if I sand I'll go too deep into the metal. Can I just prime over it? Thanks
Can anyone give me advice on removal of agae from the lower unit? Is there a recommended cleaner to use. I've heard of using muratic acid but is it safe on aluminum? Are there better alternatives? Thanks
Can anyone explain what exactly "Oil Injection" is on a 2 stroke outboard? I'm going to buy an 84' Suzuki DT140 tomorrow and I'm confused about this. Does this mean that I don't pre-mix the fuel? Thanks:confused:
I need a motor and have the choice of a 140hp 1984 Suzuki, or a late 80's 115HP Mercury. Both have tilt/trim. Same price. Any opinions or advice? I'm mounting it to an 18' Trihull. Thanks
