    minn kota 565 question

    I currently have an older Minn Kota bow mount tiller steer. I have the option of buying a bow mount 565 foot contolled really cheap. However, the 565 is only 28lb thrust and the one I have now is 36lbs. Can I swap out the motors? IE put the 36lb thrust motor on the bottom of the foot...

    72 800 shakedown trip.......a few minor issues

    Ran like a bat outta he'll. Won't go into reverse tho just revs. Please help with that. Also she's a bit jhard to start. Didn't adjust the idle screws on the carb as the fishing was too good to tinker. That'll be next time. Would appreciate any guidance you can give on my no reverse problem...

    '72 800 crankshaft bearing interchangeable part??

    okay, finally found the root of all my engine problems. My top crank bearing is SHOT to HELL along with it went the oil seal. Got that today. My question is: Is there a cheaper alternative to the Mercury part? Like a timken from autozone?? anything? Your help is much appreciated.

    72 merc 800 surging and poor idle FIGURED OUT! NEVERMIND WASN"T IT

    I think...... was replacing all fuel/emissions lines today and discovered that the line connecting the two carbs wasn't clamped down to the lower carb. DERRR I'd bet that fixes my no idle and surging problem. BTW be VERY carful with your engine side fuel connector. I saw it leaking...

    72 800 possible mercontrol issues?

    Motor is linked and syncd pretty sure I have a leaking/blown upper crankshaft seal (parts coming) my question is: it would scream in reverse (rev great). But in fwd, was only able to get one good run then no more than 2000 rpm with the hammer all the way down. Could my control be fubared?

    '72 800. Random loose hose. Help?

    Port side, between throttle cable slider and the block aft of the throttle actuator lever. 3/8 hose, possibly connected under throttle cable slider but came out when I move/tugged it to see where/if it was connected. Mercury service manual doesn't have a hose routing diagram.
