    Yes racerone nailed it. I did check flywheel key and it was in perfect shape. I did link and sync right out the gate so that was set. This motor first pull started right up. Only had to adjust air fuel needle and she idled nice. Picked this up for 200 bucks. 0 money in it. Got quite the deal...

    Swapped the wires referenced and it started up!!! Damn you guys are good!!! Just fine tuning from here.

    Will do. Flywheel key is good. Got the bolt off no issues with my buddies tourqe wrench. Checking that connection today will repost in a bit. Thank you again

    I was suspect of the flywheel key as well. Got a prob tho. Hit it with my impact wrench and nothing. Nut is not budging. Soaked for 24 hrs in pb blaster and still not moving. Gonna try a friend's impact wrench that's a bit better than mine. Mine is old, still works but may not be powerful...

    I have picked up a new project. 1988 25HP Evinrude E25RCCA The guy I bought it from said he cleaned carb, fuel pump replaced, and new water pump. This is pull start. I pull it and get nothing.     That is exactly what happened. Main wiring harness fuse. Had to reference the motor harness diagram. Then found a pic online that showed a similar motor. My buddy checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and he is back in business.

    Well I did not put new ones on yet, but manipulated the current ones to close the best I could get them to test out. It worked, throttle valve can close and motor can keep a good idle.
