Trim went full up on it’s own

Same thing (Quicksilver3000 as well) happened to me but while I was going 30mph down the lake. Ended up being that the trim wire at the throttle control was stripped at one small spot due to it resting on a screw. The neutral-to-forward repetitive motion over time wore the insulation off and...

    Alpha One Gen 2 - Driveshaft Seal - P/N: 26-864319

Yup, thats it. Flange side down into the case, tight fit for the new seals but use a correct sized socket or the merc seal tool to work it in there. Also, add a little gasket sealer on the mating surface .

    Alpha One Gen 2 - Driveshaft Seal - P/N: 26-864319

Just did mine...there is a slight flange on one side of the double-seal. That is the side that is made to fit down into the housing, towards the prop.

    Alpha1Gen2 gear oil leak

I think I may have found the problem. Used my finger to gently feel first, used the screwdriver for the video. Upper oil seal kit and spanner wrench ordered.

    Alpha1Gen2 gear oil leak

Will pull and pressure test tonight. I was just looking to see if it was obvious to anyone what the leak was/wasnt based on the location.

    Alpha1Gen2 gear oil leak

Hey all. Uncovered the boat today and saw the gear oil monitor bottle was empty. Gear oil looks like it slowly leaked out of the weep hole on the lower unit port side. Replaced the shift shaft seal, carrier seal and water pump last fall after finding a small amount of water during the gear...

Branford Point in CT, frozen solid past the channel. Housatonic River also frozen almost solid. Hasn't looked like this for almost a decade

    Gear lube leak after maintenance?

Boat is winterized and was checking the drive after changing the shift shaft seal this October. Drive was pulled for yearly maintenance. No oil dripping or puddle on the ground. Clearly a very small amount coming out of the upper shift shaft. Normal? I've never noticed this before after an...

Shift shaft seal / carrier seal / oil o-ring?

Understood. Thanks for all the info and responses back by the way as I work through this. Pretty quiet in here lately.

Shift shaft seal / carrier seal / oil o-ring?

What would be the direct issue of gear oil seeping down the upper shift shaft onto the lower shift shaft assembly?

Shift shaft seal / carrier seal / oil o-ring?

Correct. I figured worst case, I'm wasting a bit of money for the sake of preventative maintenance. Nope, that wasn't the worst case haha
